Kristina's Colour Challenge #43

FINALLY!!!! I'm participating in Kristina's Colour Inspriation Challenge this week... it's been a while since I've managed to sit down and make a card for it, and I'm so excited that I made it this week.

Here is the Inspiration picture for this week:-

The colours are Pumpkin Pie, Choc Chip, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Brocade Blue... Believe it or not I DON'T actually have ANY Brocade Blue so I've substituted and used Bashful Blue... I'm sure Kristina will forgive me!!!!

And here is the card I came up with:-

Again, a colour combo which is way outside of my comfort zone, that being PINK and GREEN (granted however there is a shade of green in this card!!)

I started with Whisper White and added a layer of Chocolate Chip to it and tied some Choc Chip Wide Grosgrain and White Ribbon together around the top. Then I used my Round Tab Punch to cut a piece of Blue, Olive, Ruby Red and Pumpkin Pie to make the larger circle behind the Scallop Circle. I've used the Sale-a-Bration set 'Congrats' for the sentiment which was coloured using my markers. The buttons are Pumkin Pie (coloured with my marker), Ruby Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue and Choc Chip (also coloured with my marker).

Quite a simple looking card, but I hope you like it.

Thanks for dropping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #6

Yep... I'm back!!! Two posts in the same night... WOW!!!

Anyway.. I missed Karen's 'Sweet Sunday Sketch' last week because my BEAUTIFUL family and I were away camping (you can read all about it here), but I'm back this week to participate and I think I will JUST make it in time.

Here is the sketch that Karen gave us to work with:-

And here is the card I came up with:-

Now this is a VERY DIFFERENT colour combo for me... I started with my usual SAFE colours of PINK and GREEN, but thought it was about time I got brave and tried something new... sooooo out came my Colour Coach and it ASSURED me that these colours would go together.

So the base is Choc Chip and I've layered it with some pieces of the Prints DSP in So Saffron and Rose Red, then added another layer of Choc Chip and Whisper White which I've stamped my image on using the gorgeous Botanical Blooms , one of the Sale-a-bration sets. Given Sale-a-bration ends here in OZ tomorrow, I thought I'd give it one last hoorah!!! I've stamped the image in So Saffron and Certainly Celery and the sentiment is from Short and Sweet and also stamped in So Saffron (I'm actually thinking that I possibly should've stamped it in Rose Red, but never mind!!) I also added some Certainly Celery Wide Grosgrain across the centre and some Certainly Celery Brads on either side. I don't have any Rose Red Ribbon (Unbelievable I KNOW!!! - I MUST get some!!) so I used my trusty Rose Red Marker and coloured in some Very Vanilla Wide Grosgrain to create my little tag.

Hope you like my BRAVE attempt!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Here's what I used:-

Stamps:- Botanical Blooms, Short and Sweet
Card:- Choc Chip, Whisper White, Prints DSP in Rose Red and So Saffron
Ink:- So Saffron, Certainly Celery
Accessories:- Certainly Celery Brads, Certainly Celery Wide Grosgrain Ribbon, Very Vanilla Ribbon (Wide) and Rose Red Marker.

Be Happy.. Summer

Hi There!!! I've got a quick post for you, but will hopefully be back soon with some more goodies to share.

The card I've made is actually a replica of this one, but I decided to give it a go in a different colour scheme... something a little more summery!!! Hope you like it....

This time around I've based my colours on the 'Summer Picnic DSP' which isn't available at the moment (fingers crossed it makes it into the NEW CATTIE!!!!). So, my base was Certainly Celery, which I stamped with my Polka Dot Background Stamp and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I went about layering... we've got Whisper White with a scallop edge of Bashful Blue DSP from Summer Picnic, then Certainly Celery which I dry embossed with my Crop-a-dile. I added some Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon and my flowers are from the DieCut Blooms (also unfortunately unavailable at the moment, but hopefully not for long) in Real Red, and Bashful Blue. The centre flower is Old Olive and is from my Felt Fusion Goodie Tin!!! The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and are from my GORGEOUS Bodacious Bouquet set (a set which UNFORTUNATELY is going to be retiring, sooooo if you want this set let me know ASAP... because once it's gone... it's GONE!!!! Oh, and the flowers on the top are just cut out from some more of the delcious Summer Picnic DSP. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red and is from my very well used So Many Sayings set.

So there you go... Which one do you prefer... the one from this post (in Autumn Browns and Oranges) or this one.

A Quick One

Hello!!!

I am still here. My beautiful little family and I have just returned from a week away camping!!! Yes that's right CAMPING. Some may say I'm crazy for camping with a 2yr old and a 4mth old baby.... I can hear some giggles!!!! We had a wonderful time, Jorja got to run around and get REALLY dirty, run through sprinklers FULLY CLOTHED, while being watched and adored by the numerous elderly 'Caravan Campers' that were there, she got to go swimming at the beach and dig in the sand, quite possibly ate a fair bit too, 'Shoo' the ducks away, which generally ended in the ducks getting pretty much most of what she was eating (the 'Shoo Duckies' was to STOP that from happening, but amongst all the excitement the food seemed to get launched in the attempt), and then there was the getting to stay up a little bit later than her normal bedtime...which of course as all you mothers will know... finally caught up with her.. LOL. Ella of course got to watch most of this from the comfort of her Bouncee or Pram and she occassionally (while her BIG sister was sleeping) got to have a play on the Air Matress, she did however and unfortunately have a little trouble settling into the 'Camping and Tenting Lifestyle' returning to what seemed like 'NewBorn' sleeping patterns, these of course started to settle down to almost a normal pattern on the LAST night... isn't that always the way. Hahaha.

Well we are home safe and sound and looking forward to our next Camping Trip, hopefully soon.

Now that you've endured my waffle, I did infact want to let you know that I will be back soon to show you some creative bits and pieces, so please come back and check them out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #4

Hello... I'm back!!! This is seriously some sort of record. TWO Blog posts in less than an hour. WOW!!
It's Sweet Sunday Sketch time again over at Karen's gorgeous blog and for two weeks running I've managed to get my card made. (I'm giving myself a little pat on the back here!!! hahaha).

Here is the sketch that Karen gave us to work with:-

When I first took a peek of the sketch for this week I actually let out a little squeel of delight.... funny you may say, but I've been wanting to make a card like this for ages, AND I've wanted to make it using my Spring Fling DSP... however... the card you are about to see doesn't actually contain ANY Spring Fling DSP whatsoever, mainly because if I'd used it my card would've been an identical 'Card' twin of Karen's. Soooo I put my thinking cap back on and came up with something quite different to what I would normally make, I think I was having a BRAVE moment. And, you will be quite shocked to see that there is NO PINK, yep that's right NO PINK in this card at all, in fact, I'm going to add it to my BOYS card collection. So here it is:-

I've used Chocolate Chip as the base and layered it with some paper from the Outlaw DSP pack then added a layer of Soft Sage on top of that to adhere the circle to. I actually roughed up the edges of the Sage layer, probably just to make it a little more boysie!!!! hahaha. The circles are just bits from the Outlaw pack also and I've just mounted those onto some Very Vanilla so they didn't look so lost. I added some Choc Chip Wide Grosgrain and used a bit of my Hodgepodge Hardware (which is a tad neglected, I really must use it more often!!) and then stamped the sentiment in Choc Chip onto Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from the Hostess Set 'So Many Sayings'.

So there you go.. my card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch. I hope you like it.

Here's what I used:-

Stamps:- So Many Sayings (Level 1 Hostess)
Card:- Chocolate Chip, Soft Sage, Outlaw DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink:- Choc Chip
Accessories:- Choc Chip Wide Grosgrain, Hodgepodge Hardware, Cutter Kit.

Botanical Blooms!!!

I absolutely LOVE this Sale-a-bration set 'Botanical Blooms'. It is such a simple and pretty set with endless possibilities, and even I can see that those possibilities don't all include PINK. Phew I hear you say. However, the two cards I've just finished and am going to show you are indeed made with Pink and Green.

I've used the same layout for both cards, the only difference is the flower arrangement and the ribbon placement.

For this first one I've used my paper piercer to pierce around a layer of Regal Rose and Very Vanilla, which has also been popped up on dimensionals. I've also added a Certainly Celery bow on the side. Oh and the Love You sentiment is from Short and Sweet.

This card is the very same layout except I've stamped three of the rounder flower and added just a dash of ribbon on the top.

I hope you like these, and I hope that the lovely people who i am so very blessed and lucky to have be a part of my life, like them too. They don't actually know that they are on there way yet, so I hope it's a lovely suprise.

Bye for now.

Cards for BOYS!!

The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy for me, with a Calendar Class (which is a Scrapbooking Project using the Days to Remember 12x12 Calendar)... and a HUGE project no less, a Birthday Book Class, which went soooo well and a Cards for BOYS Stamp-a-Stack.

I thought I'd share with you the cards that the lovely ladies who came to the SAS made. Let me just say though, that along with many many other blogging and stampin' buddies, I REALLY and I mean REALLY struggle to come up with BOYS cards, so this was a HUGE challenge for me, but one that I really enjoyed... it did most definately put me right out of my comfort zone.. that zone of course being PINK, RIBBON, GLITTER etc... oooh I still get a bit nervous and anxious when I mention it. BUT... I did manage to come up with a selection of cards which most definately contained not an ounce of PINK, nor a sparkle of glitter... I must admit though I did have to add a touch of ribbon on two of them.... well a Girly Girl can't give up everything all at once can she???

So.. here they are:-

First up are my two cards which contain Ribbon... I used Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain... so it was still BOYSIE!!!!

This first one I used Pumpkin Pie as the base and used my Jersey Shore DSP as the strip down the side. I also used my Spiral Punch just to add a bit of ...mmm well I guess dimension and then used my It's your Birthday stamp set in Brilliant Blue and layered it onto a small square of Brilliant Blue Card.

The second one is a similar layout.... well as far as the DSP and Ribbon, then I added the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from Cheery Chat onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie which I attacked again with my Spiral Punch and them popped it up on some Dimensionals.

The next two cards you may have seen before on my Blog here and here. The first of course being the card I created for my little God Son Lachie for his birthday.... lots of layers here... we started with Kraft then layered it with Real Red, Blue Bayou (this layer of which was punched with my Crop-a-dile before inserting some awesome Jumbo Eyelets), then the middle layers are Whisper White, Bashful Blueand then some more Kraft, Real Red, Bashful Blue and some torn layers of Blue Bayou for the waves. The Boat is from Nursery Necessities and I used Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Chocolate Chip to colour it.

The second card originally when posted didn't include the two silver Brads, which I added after the first post and never got around to re-posting... I think it looks much better with them added... who would've thought that two teenie weenie silver brads could make such a difference to the overall look. Anyway, this card uses mainly Brilliant Blue, with a layer of Whisper White. The Star is stamped in VersaMark and then embossed with White embossing powder and is from the Nursery Necessities set. I then cut out a small star with my star punch and attached it with a silver brad. I also used some silver cord (NON SU!) ... oooh some more ribbon like stuff... hahaha. The sentiment was stamped in Whisper White Ink and is from Big Bold Birthday.

And finally the last card uses Really Rust as the base and to that I've added a strip of Outlaw DSP then used some Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow and Very Vanilla for the centre layers. The stars were punched out with my star punch and are in Really Rust and Creamy Caramel and then outlined with my Choc Chip Marker to add some more dimension.

So there you go.... I can make cards with out any PINK or Glitter and almost without any ribbon.

Gentle Moment... Another Scrap Page!!!

I told you I was on a role.... Look at me go!!! hahaha.

I've finished another Scrap Page to add to my calendar and hopefully a layout that my lovely girlfriends will want to use and adapt for their own calendars too.

Here is a looksie at the sketch I used:-

The layout is from here and I saw a similar page at Karen's site... which I fell in love with the moment I looked at it... it is such a 'simple' and beautiful page, and I have to admit when it comes to scrapbooking I much prefer simple.

So here is my 'Gentle' page...

Again I've used my Crew Kids - for Girls kit...absolutely loving this... think I might have to get another before they disappear... which I'm sure they will given that they have the current 'In Colour' colour Wild Wasabi included. I've also used a stamp from the current 'Sale-a-bration' set Yummy (you may not be able to see it too well in the picture but it is the Flourish on the corners. I've stamped them in Rose Red then used my White Gel pen to add a bit of dimension by dotting it. The letters are from a set of Alphabet Stickers I had (unfortunately NOT SU!!!) but I didn't have an alphabet set that was small enough for the title.

HOpe you like it.

You & Me... Another Scrap Page!!

I must be on a role lately, particularly with my Scrapping, because I've got yet another page to show you.
I'm currently holding an ongoing 'Calendar Class' with some extremely wonderful and beautiful friends of mine (HELLLOOO Girls.... Love Ya!!), so am creating pages to put into that. We are all using the 12x12 Days to Remember Calendars... and I'm hoping that they are all still going to speak to me after we are done.... It's a HUGE project!!!

Anyway now for my latest page....

I got my inspiration from a layout from Page Maps...(this is an awesome site which gives you many many layout ideas... PHEW!!)

I've used paper and embelishments from the Crew Kids for Girls Pack, which I LOVE!
This gorgeous pic is of myself and my beautiful Jorja and was taken on Christmas Day... I just LOVE this pic, you've probably already guessed that given it's my profile picture too.

Well I hope you like and I'll be back soon with some more goodies to share.

Sweet Sunday Sketch!!!

I've been wanting to participate in the Sweet Sunday Sketch over at Karen Giron's Blog for the past three weeks.... and FINALLY I've made my card BEFORE the deadline. Karen provides a sketch and all we have to do is come up with a design. So... here is the Sketch we had to work with.
And here is the card I came up with:-

Yep...you guessed it I've used Pinks and Greens AGAIN!!! I just can't help myself and I seem to be having a Bodacious Bouquet moment also... seems to be popping up on quite a few of my cards lately.

Anyway... I've used Old Olive as the base and layered it with some Very Vanilla and a piece of Old Olive DSP from the Summer Picnic DSP Pack. Onto that I've used some Certainly Celery and Certainly Celery DSP then another layer of Old Olive and Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet and is stamped in Rose Red and the flower is from the Bodacious Bouquet set. I've coloured the stamp with my Stampin' write markers in Rose Red and Regal Rose to get the darker effect on the outside of the flower. Add a dash of Regal Rose Ribbon, some brads and pop it up on some dimensionals and 'Voila' all done.

Hope you like it.

Bye for now.
