Inkspiration Challenge #29 {a SKETCH}

PINK!!!!!! It gladdens my heart, fills it with JOY and above all else it makes me SMILE!!! I know, that's kinda weird to start my blog post for this weeks Inkspiration Challenge... But I just had to let you know!! haha.. Well ok.. for some of you, that revelation will be absolutely NO surprise ... after all I've NEVER EVER hidden my passion of all things PINK.. ahaha.
You may though be curious also, as to why I started my post like that .... well like I mentioned PINK... makes me SMILE.... it really does... and this card in all it's PINKNESS is for a special someone, who needs a little SMILE.. although she already has one of the MOST amazing SMILES I've ever seen.. I hope this will add a little something special to her day.

This week the amazing Cindy is hosting the challenge, because it's her week to host she's added a little twist to this weeks challenge... the twist... use something you've been hoarding on your craft desk... OK.. so I'm REALLY stretching this one.. only because I was SOOOOO SUPER organised and had my card made a whole week in advance that I forgot about the twist this week.. oops.. but I can honestly say that my Pink Pirouette DSP used on my card has been sitting in my paper stash for almost 12mths.. not because I don't like it.. after all it is PINK right?, but because I can't bear to cut into it... hahaha.. anyone else have the same problem?.. Please say yes!!! hahah

So.. onto the card.. right?.. well here it is:-

And here is Keesh's FABULOUS sketch:-

I've used Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory as my cardstock colour combo. Some Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede as my Ink choice.. actually I'm LOVING this colour combo.. these colours work SO nicely together :o). And some GORGEOUS Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery Ribbon. Of course the STAR of the show in the fabulous Vintage Vogue stamp set and just to give it a little sparkle I've added some Pink Rhinestones. Oh and I almost forgot.. the circle.. well that was cut with the assistance of my FABULOUS Circle Scissors Plus!!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #71

Happy Sunday!!! Hope you've had a fabulous weekend. Of course it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch.. and this week is GORGEOUS!!

Here is my card:-

And here is Karen's GORGEOUS sketch:-

I don't often use ovals on my cards... BUT I actually really enjoyed making this card.
I hope I haven't frightened you off with my HUGE bow... but I actually really like it now that I've had time to sit and look at it a bit...hahaha... what do you think???

I've used Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, and Certainly Celery as my colour combo.. I love how they all complement each other so nicely. The base is Baja Breeze with a little panel of Soft Suede and Baja Breeze DSP. I've used my Vintage Vogue set (LOVING this set!!!) and stamped the"F" stamp in Soft Suede then stamped the other images from the set in Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette.
To get my scallop around the Oval I used my Scallop Oval Punch and then attached them around the Oval. The PINK Panel and BOW are made using my EXTRA wide Pink Pirouette Ribbon... GORGEOUS and the extra flowers are stamped in Pink Pirouette, sponged with Regal Rose and have a little Pink Rhinestone added to the centre.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #69

Happy Sunday!!! Hope you've had a wonderful weekend so far.
It's been busy here, and I think It's going to be a little crazy for a couple of days... I'm off to the SU! Convention in Sydney on Thursday morning... I know.. VERY VERY Exciting and STILL have to get my SWAPS done... oh dear!!!! hahaha. But, never fear I have a card for you today for another GORGEOUS sketch from Karen and here it is:-

And here is the gorgeous Sketch:-

FUN!!! Right????.. I've flipped mine this week so that Bella would fit nicely!!

Given I've been making swaps, well attempting to make swaps all week, I was REALLY looking forward to putting this card together... nope.. this is NOT one of my swaps... hahaha. And, I REALLY wanted to use my Cupcakeabella again.. isn't she GORGEOUS!????
Sooo, because my BRAIN is actually hurting from having to think SO much this week, I've kept this one nice and simple. A layer of Kraft ( I know... Right???! hahah) and with some SHOCK.. Pink Pirouette DSP, a large Baja Circle achieved by using my Circle Scissors Plus and a slightly smaller Vanilla circle for the image. I've paper pieced most of Bella today, with Pink Pirouette for the Cupcake with a touch of Dazzling Diamonds and some blingification in the form of a Rhinestone and some Close to Cocoa DSP for the bottom. Bella's dress is in Baja Breeze and then I've coloured her slightly with some Blush Blossom. The sentiment is from Vintage Vogue for the word 'friend' and fabulous is my own handwriting.

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #24

Happy Friday!!!

Hope you've had a FABULOUS week. The Kale' home has been struck down this past week with a nasty virus and a BIG dose of Laryngitis for me... although I'm sure my hubby and little flossies thought that was a fabulous treat.. hahaha.

Today Keesh has given us a Colour Challenge to play along with and here is my card:-

Here is the colour combo for you to see and play along with:-

Now... when I first saw this combo.. I must admit to having a little panic attack.. OK it was a BIG one... I wasn't sure how this was going to work, BUT... I have to say, I'm kinda liking this colour combo together, it's quite soft and elegant. Gotta love that about CHALLENGES right?... definately makes you move out of your comfort zone and for me well you all know what that is... PINK and Kraft... and there is ABSOLUTELY none of either in this one.

I've started with a base of Whisper White then added some Sage Shadow cardstock and some DSP which has unfortunately retired. I then added another strip of Sage card and some Whisper white stamping the flourish image from my Vintage Vogue set in Basic Grey then added some White ribbon and a little Apricot Appeal flower from Vintage Vogue to the top. VERY VERY SIMPLE!!!

Inkspiration Sketch #22

Happy Friday!!! Hope you've had a fabulous week. Today the Inkspiration Team have a sketch for you to play along with.. and who doesn't love a good sketch???

Keesh is having computer issues still, but never fear, Renee is hosting the challenge this week so be sure to get all the deets at the end of my post, because we definately want to see what you come up with.

Given it's Mother's Day on Sunday I thought I should probably get a couple of Mother's Day cards made.. this is one of them:-

And here is the sketch for you to play along with:-

I've used Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede.. have I mentioned how much I LOVE this colour combo... possibly because there is COPIOUS amounts of Pink... but I do love how the three very different shades blend SOOOO nicely together!!!

I've used my Vintage Vogue stamp set, again.. LOVE this set and the sentiment is from my VERY VERY VERY NEW Papertrey Ink set Blooming Button Bits (a delicious birthday gift to me from my GORGEOUS friend Lee!!!!)

Oh and is it just me or does anyone else put an entire card together and then realise that perhaps it should've had a little paper piercing here, or there? ... anyone???? In this case It had to be the hardest layer to get to!!!!! But I managed... barely and I think it was just what it needed to finish it off.

Now be sure to pop on over and see what amazing creations the rest of the Inkspiration Team has come up with:-

Cindy

Some EXCITING news!!!!

Hello!!! Well.. finally I can spill the beans.. I've been bursting with excitement for a few weeks now, sworn to secrecy.. but now... well now I can tell!!! YAY.

The gorgeous and VERY, VERY talented Shell, did I mention what an amazing Scrapper she is... no really.. she's AMAZING!!!! ... well.. Shell runs Challenge Heaven.. a fun Challenge community.. and yes, their is some amazingly talented ladies over there.. go see for yourself!!!.
Sooo.. .Shell emailed me a few weeks back asking me if I'd be interested in helping out with a 'Card' Challenge over at Challenge Heaven. After I picked my jaw up off the keyboard, had a little looksie over my shoulder just to make sure it was ME she was talking to and composed myself enough to actually type, I OF COURSE said YES!!!! And can I add that I am absolutely HONOURED to be doing this. Like I mentioned Shell is amazing and the group of ladies she has participating monthly with her challenges are so very talented.

So onto some eyecandy... This month Shell set the sketch.. and here's the card I came up with:-

And here is the BRILLIANT sketch:-

Isn't it a FUN sketch. LOVED playing with this one, and will definately be using it again.

I've used a colour combo of Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede. Oh and I just have to throw in, that this could quite possibly become one of my VERY FAVE colour combos. On first glance Melon Mambo can be somewhat intimidating.. but teamed with Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose, becomes much softer and FABULOUS. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue and I've stamped the "F"riend stamp in Soft Suede then added a little flourish behind it in Pink Pirouette and a little flower stamped in Melon Mambo.

Be sure to visit Shell and have a go at some of the challenges she's got going over at Challenge Heaven and don't forget to visit the Challenge Heaven Blog too.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to pop back later for todays Inkspiration Challenge.

Vintage Ruffles!!!

Hello!!!... I just wanted to pop in and share a little card I finished this afternoon with you.

My gorgeous friend Lee and I had a little personal challenge this week... Lee's was to use her "UNOPENED" Crochet Flowers..(yes UNOPENED!!!) and mine was to attempt my very first Ruffled Ribbon!!!! Well I'm happy to report that Lee's challenge was completed within about and hour of the challenge being set... how's that for efficiency!!! ( I KNOW!!!) and mine... well mine has taken a good 144hours plus to complete... yes I also know!!!!!

But... I've done it, and I have to say... I kinda like this ruffled ribbon technique, that is after I figured out an easier way of creating said ruffle without pulling my hair out... mumbling rather loudly.... sighing even louder and almost ( I do say ALMOST) giving up completely!!! hahaa... I'll share my easier way with you later.. maybe even a wee tutorial if you like... but then perhaps you all already know of an easier way, and I'm just a bit slow off the mark. How do you create your "Ruffles"? do let me know!! haha

Anyhoo.. enough rambling ( I tend to do that sometimes) and onto my card:-

And here's a little close up, just so you can actually see that it does say BIRTHDAY and not Happy IRTHDAY!!!... ooops.. sorry about that.. camera angle!!!!

Lee also created a STUNNING version of this flower... seriously you must go and check it out... GORGEOUS!!!! I decided to use Rose Red and some Old Olive Ribbon. I've kept it really CAS.. and I'm really happy with how it turned out. My problem however is that this little baby, needs to be posted... How do I get this in an envelope and sent through the post without it being ... well DESTROYED before it arrives!!! hmmmm

Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to tell me how your create your Ruffles.. I'd LOVE to hear!!

xx Sarah

Sweet Sunday Sketch #63

Happy Sunday and of course HAPPY EASTER!!!!

I hope you are all enjoying the Easter celebrations with your family and loved ones.

Of course apart from and over abundance of chocolate today, we also have a fabulous Sweet Sunday Sketch for you to play along with... I hope you can play along.

Here is my card for today:-

And here is Karen's gorgeous sketch... and with a little excitement in my voice... NO TILTED PANELS... Phew!!!!:-

I've used my NEW Vintage Vogue set .... VERY, VERY Lovely!!! and my colour combo today is Kraft, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Close to Cocoa.

I fear that if I go into detail as to how I stamped all the layers on the card I'd probably confuse you. Oh, who am I kidding, I'd confuse myself more, so I'll leave it for you to looksie at.. hahah. The layer under the circle however, I will tell you a little more about.. that little layer.. well I've inked up the floral, flourishy type stamp from Vintage Vogue.. did I mention LOVELY!!! in Whisper White and stamped it across a piece of Kraft card stock and then to add a little more Vintagy feel to it I sponged around the outside in Close to Cocoa ink. I actually really like the softness of it.. what do you think?

Oh and some more EXCITING news.... Joanne Basile... our Guest Stamper for March.. well she isn't our Guest anymore.. NO.. she's going to be a permanent Sweet Sunday Stamper... AWESOME huh!!!!.. I'm VERY excited to be working with her each week.. her cards are AMAZING!!!!

Be sure to pop on over to the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stamper's blogs to see some more AMAZING creations:-And don't forget to link your card to InLInkz over at Karen's blog so we can all see what you've created.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
