Sweet Sunday Sketch #60

Happy Sunday!!!! How's the weather today????? Humid, HOT and pretty much YUK!!!... Well that's what it's like for us West Aussies :o)... hopefully it's a little nicer where ever you may be.

Karen has set another FUN sketch for us this week, SOOOO I hope you can find some time to sit down and play along.

Here is my card for today's sketch:-

And here is the sketch for you:-

I knew I wanted to use the colour combo of Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, and Garden Green... all was going well until I had a brainwave to use Butterflies and then when I tried to get them all in a little cluster... WELL... it kinda wasn't doing what I had hoped. I did however persevere, which involved an awful amount of fluffing around, fiddling, sighing, going for a walk, coming back and looking at it again, tilting my head ( you know sometimes that helps.. Right?) and then a little more fiddling until I figured it was either going to work and you'd like it (which I hope you do) OR it wasn't going to work and you'd look at it with a tilted head and squinted eyes and just kinda well.. OK NOT LIKE IT!!!!

I do though hope you go for the first option, but do feel free to let me know if you don't.. I PROMISE I won't be offended.. LOL.

Righty enough waffling... why don't you pop on over and visit the rest of the AMAZING Sweet Sunday Stampers... you know they'll have some AMAZING creations for you to see and of course be inspired by:-

Karen Motz

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A NEW year of Inkspiration Challenges!!!!

Happy Friday!!!!! Well the title says it all... Today is the FIRST Inkspiration Challenge for 2010, so I hope you can all play along, they're always SUCH fun. Today Keesh has set us a Colour Challenge, and I have to say... I was a little bit scared when I first saw the colours, not because they aren't lovely, they are SU! colours after all, BUT there is some Cameo Coral to be used, and well if you read this post, you'll know that I've been a wee bit scared of Cameo Coral, and here I am two cards in ONE week using it... I think I can almost say I've overcome my fear... hahaha.

Here is my card for this week:-

And here are the colours for you to see:-

I started out with some Very Vanilla as my base and to that added some Very Vanilla DSP from my Candy Lane stash and then sponged the edges with some Choc Chip to soften it up a wee bit. I stamped the flower from my Razzle Dazzle set on to some Choc Chip card and then used my Apron Lace punch to punch some So Saffron to make the centre piece. The Butterflies are stamped in Cameo Coral and I've sponged the edges again with some Choc Chip and added a silver brad which has been laiden with a Glue Dot and then "plonked" as the lovely Sarah once described it (*waving Sair*)... still love that term "Plonked".. oops sorry there I go digressing!!!.. ok so where was I... oh yes... the brad... it's been "plonked" into some Dazzling Diamonds. I decided it was also high time I used some of my Hodgepodge (which has since been retired), instead of just looking at it in it's tin, so I stamped my sentiment from Short and Sweet in Choc Chip onto some Vanilla card, added some sponging and secured it with some brads, also from the hodgepodge tin.... WOW, I should probably sit down for a sec, Cameo Coral and two lots of hodgepodge on the one card!!!!! hahaha. Oh and I mustn't forget the ribbon. I also added some Very Vanilla ribbon across the centre for a little dimension and then tied a Choc Chip bow before attaching the Butterflies. Ooops and almost forgot to mention the little So Saffron centres for the flowers, just to make them POP a bit.

So there you go... I hope you like this one, I'm actually really happy with how it turned out. Be sure to pop on over to the other Inkspiration DT blogs for some amazing inspiration:-

Cindy

Kirsty

Renee

Chantelle

Anthonette

This week the whole DT will be helping Keesh choose a winner, we'll all be stopping by to have a visit and see what amazing creations you've created... I can't wait. So be sure to link your card to Mr Linky on Keesh's blog so we can all see.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

ETA... if you think you're suffering from deja vu... YOU ARE!!! hahaha... This post did go up last week... I didn't get Keesh's email about postponing the challenge...ooops... but i've got the right date today... phew!!!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #51

I'm back!!!! And this time with a wonderful Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen.

I have to admit that when Karen sent this one to me I did a little happy dance, actually it was a BIG one.... this folks was the sketch that seemed to give my MOJO a nice big BOOT!!!! Thankyou Karen ((HUGS)).

I decided to go with MY fave colour combo AGAIN... well I figured that if my MOJO had gone AWOL for a wee while, it would be best to go with a SAFE colour combo.

Sooo... here is my card for this weeks sketch:-

And here is the gorgeous and MOJO saving Sketch from Karen:-

I've used Pink Pirouette as my base and layered it with some Very Vanilla and then some DSP from my Candy Lane stash... Very Vanilla DSP on top and the gorgeous stripes on the bottom, broken up with an Apron Lace Punch border in Regal Rose and some Regal Rose ribbon. I've used my Butterfly Prints stampe set and Punch and stamped them butterflies in Close to Cocoa and Regal Rose and added some sponging around the edges and a little Pink Rhinestone to the centre. The sentiment is from my Sweet Little Sentiments set and is stamped in Cocoa, sponged with some Regal Rose and blinged with some Rhinestones.

Be sure to pop on over and visit the other AMAZING Sweet Sunday Stampers for some more inspiration:-

And don't forget to link your card to Mr Linky over at Karen's blog so we can all see what you've created.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
