Inkspiration Inspiration #21

Happy Friday!!! What's going on.. TWO blog posts in one day!!!! WOW!!!

This week Keesh has set an Inspiration Challenge.. and it's a PREEETTTTYYY one this week.. come see, come see!!!

I decided to think outside the box today and rather than make a card I've made a little 3D project.. infact the idea came from the current SU! Demo Magazine Impressions (just one of the benefits of being an SU! Demo!!!)

So, here's what I came up with this week:-

And here is the Inspiration picture for you to play along with:-

I've used Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo card stock and some Regal Rose DSP for the flower. Oh and lets not forget some gorgeous Certainly Celery ribbon!!

This was SUPER easy to make and a FABULOUS idea for a little party favour.. although my gorgeous Jorja would convince you that you needn't wait for a party!!!!

I added a little bling to my flower, however.. actually that should be *sigh*... HOWEVER... *sigh*... you probably don't want to know how I added said bling... lets just say if I share, you'll either double over in fits of laughter or sit there banging your head on the keyboard wondering what on earth is wrong with this chick!!!! YEP.. one of those moments.. hahaha.

If you'd like to see these little beauties in real life, or have me Demo them for you, just let me know.. it would be A FUN little project to make!!.

Be sure to pop on over and visit the rest of the Inkspiration DT for some AMAZING inspiration:-

Some EXCITING news!!!!

Hello!!! Well.. finally I can spill the beans.. I've been bursting with excitement for a few weeks now, sworn to secrecy.. but now... well now I can tell!!! YAY.

The gorgeous and VERY, VERY talented Shell, did I mention what an amazing Scrapper she is... no really.. she's AMAZING!!!! ... well.. Shell runs Challenge Heaven.. a fun Challenge community.. and yes, their is some amazingly talented ladies over there.. go see for yourself!!!.
Sooo.. .Shell emailed me a few weeks back asking me if I'd be interested in helping out with a 'Card' Challenge over at Challenge Heaven. After I picked my jaw up off the keyboard, had a little looksie over my shoulder just to make sure it was ME she was talking to and composed myself enough to actually type, I OF COURSE said YES!!!! And can I add that I am absolutely HONOURED to be doing this. Like I mentioned Shell is amazing and the group of ladies she has participating monthly with her challenges are so very talented.

So onto some eyecandy... This month Shell set the sketch.. and here's the card I came up with:-

And here is the BRILLIANT sketch:-

Isn't it a FUN sketch. LOVED playing with this one, and will definately be using it again.

I've used a colour combo of Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede. Oh and I just have to throw in, that this could quite possibly become one of my VERY FAVE colour combos. On first glance Melon Mambo can be somewhat intimidating.. but teamed with Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose, becomes much softer and FABULOUS. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue and I've stamped the "F"riend stamp in Soft Suede then added a little flourish behind it in Pink Pirouette and a little flower stamped in Melon Mambo.

Be sure to visit Shell and have a go at some of the challenges she's got going over at Challenge Heaven and don't forget to visit the Challenge Heaven Blog too.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to pop back later for todays Inkspiration Challenge.

A {single layer} Inkspiration Colour Challenge

Happy Friday!!!! It's time for another Inkspiration Challenge and this week it's a COLOUR challenge!!!

I was having a little looksie at some Blogs the other day and to my absolute GLEE (oh yes and that's starting again... yay) ok back on track.... Kristina Werner had a CHALLENGE up on her blog... wooo hooo... I LOVED playing along with her challenges too. Soooo, why all this waffle.. well... given I've got a CRAZY weekend I needed a REALLY quick and simple card for my Inkspiration Challenge this week.. and that's where Kristina's extra challenge helped... her challenge to create a 'Single Layer' card... I know... me.. who loves a couple of layers on my cards... so be warned.. this is a VERY CAS card.. but I kinda like it.

Keesh's colours this week were heaps of fun too... Bashful Blue, Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White!!! NICE!!!!

Here's my card:-

And here are the fabulous colours from Keesh:-

I punched out a Scallop Circle onto a Post-It Note then placed it onto my cardstock to create a stencil. Then I sponged some Bashful Blue Ink to created my {single layer} scallop circle. Then I inked up one of MY FAVES.. the little flower from Cheep Talk in Real Red and Old Olive and added a little bit of BLING in the form of some Dazzling Diamonds.. to keep with the whole simple and single layer challenge. hahaha.

The sentiment is from Basic Phrases and is stamped in Bashful Blue.
Oh and in an attempt to not completely freak everyone out with all that "WHITE" space.. which can indeed be a little intimidating I scored a little frame around the outside edge, that way the whole card has it's own little "single layer" frame.

Ok I best be getting to the point... I've got I think about 10 mins to have this all finished and ready to post live, otherwise I'll be getting a swift whack across the knuckles for being tardy and not to mention LATE!!! hahaha... arrrrggg.

Inkspiration Sketch #21

appy Friday!!! It's time for another Inkspiration Challenge and this week it's everybody's FAVOURITE... a SKETCH!!!... I do LOVE a sketch. I have to say this one is one of my FAVES from Keesh... really easy to work with, FABULOUS.

Here's my card for today:-

After I'd gotten my post ready, I was just kinda sitting and looking at my card and thought it needed a little something, something!!!
So, I added a little ruffle along the Kraft ribbon... What do you think. I must apologise for my photo... I'll get a better one up as soon as my computer is being a little more amicable... it's running a BIG bit slow today!!! arrgg

And here's Keesh's FABULOUS sketch:-

I've kept mine really Clean and Simple today.. actually the only part that is stamped is the sentiment!!!!
I've been dying to use my little "Sweet Pea" flowers.. oh my goodness... they are SERIOUSLY GORGEOUS!!!!!... They were a sweet little pressie I got a few weeks ago... and well one of those little pressies that you just have to sit and look at for a wee while, whilst mustering up the gumption to actually USE them on a project... also one of those well little gifties that you simply MUST give to someone special, someone you know will admire these little treasures in all their glory and NEVER, EVER dispose of them... hahaha. Ok I'll stop with my Sweet Pea obsession now... oh but wait... SORRY!!.. I used some more of my SWEET PEA DSP... have I mentioned that that is as DIVINE as the little flowers.. and just as hard to CUT into... hahaha... Anyone else have that problem... having all this PRETTY paper, and not being able to CUT it!!! hahah

Ok.. back to the card.. I've also used some Rose Red 1" Dbl Stitched Grosgrain and some Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, and plonked some more brads into some SPARKLES to add a wee bit of BLING!!!

For my WONDERFUL Man!!!

Eight years ago.... I was lucky enough to marry the most WONDERFUL, amazing, caring and gorgeous person I know... He is BRILLIANT, funny, caring, did I say WONDERFUL and of course the most amazing Daddy to our most precious and BEAUTIFUL girls.

I've made a wee card for him.... not too fancy, after all amongst the brilliantness (hmmm possibly not a word), gorgeousness, amazingness and wonderfulness he is after all still a BOY and although we all gasp at the possibility, this little creation is likely to end up in the bottom of his drawer... hahah... just being honest.. hahah. Now this year being 8 years brings us the following gift ideas ( a little tradition we've had since we were wed).... 8th Anniversary... Bronze(yep!!), Linen and Lace... ah huh!!!) So being the crafty gal that I am and allowing my creative genius to run to it's full extent my little card encompasses all of the above elements... wanna see?

Ok.... soooo.. the heart... the closest bronzy colour I could find Creamy Caramel , Lace in the form of some APRON LACE punching, and Linen in the form of some LINEN THREAD!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #64

Happy Sunday!!!! Hope you've had a fabulous weekend.
Of course it's time for another wonderful sketch from Karen... hope you can play along.. it's heaps of fun!!!!

Sooo, because I literally have 10mins to get this post edited and up so you can have a looksie, I'm going to get straight to the point..(what's that... sighs of relief?... hahaha).

Here's my card for this week:-

And here is Karen's wonderful sketch:-

I've used some DELICIOUS and GORGEOUS Sweet Pea DSP... a wee little gifty I received in the mail last week... yes, it's taken me a whole week and a bit to convince myself that it is OK to cut this GORGEOUS paper... even then I still had to do it with one eye tightly squinted.. the other only open so that I didn't chop my finger instead.. ouch!!

I've also used my Trendy Trees stamp set... one of my faves and I'm sad to say one that has been neglected of late. I coloured the trees with my SU! Markers in Old Olive and Pretty in Pink. The centre tree I restamped and then cut out using my 1" circle punch then dunked it into my Dazzling Diamond pot for some sparkle. Just to soften the white space I decided to sponge around the edges and I guess somewhat onto the main square panel... I think I achieved what I was after... hmmm.. hahah

Ok.... 7mins to go... I best get moving!!!

Inkspiration Inspiration #20

I can't believe it's FRIDAY already!!!... WOW.. these weeks are flying by. My gorgeous flossies and I have been trying to break some sort of 'Playground/Park/Zoo' record this past few weeks... and can I say I'm EXHAUSTED!!!!.

Anyhoo... I'm sure you didn't pop in to hear about our playground antics so onto the reason you're here... to see what fabulous challenge Keesh has set for us this week. Well... it's an Inspiration ... so I do hope you'll play along.

Here is my card for this week:-

And here is our Inspiration picture, so you can play along:-

I've gone with a colour combo of Creamy Caramel, Choc Chip and Very Vanilla for my card and pulled out my FABULOUS new Extra Large 2-step Bird Punch which is available in the new Mini... can I say.. if it's a QUICK and amazing looking card you're after... this little.. well OK BIG punch is your answer... be sure to contact me if you'd like to get your hands on one.. you wont be disappointed!!!
I've used a Ruffle Ribbon again... don't panic I'll be over it soon.. hahaha... my little secret is to cut a piece of cardstock the same width as the ribbon and to the length I want my ruffle to be, then apply my STICKY STRIP and ruffle away, so I guess you could say I have created a 'Floating' ruffle. If you'd like me to show you how, be sure to leave a comment, and I'll get my tutorial butt in to gear and get something together for you :D.

Vintage Ruffles!!!

Hello!!!... I just wanted to pop in and share a little card I finished this afternoon with you.

My gorgeous friend Lee and I had a little personal challenge this week... Lee's was to use her "UNOPENED" Crochet Flowers..(yes UNOPENED!!!) and mine was to attempt my very first Ruffled Ribbon!!!! Well I'm happy to report that Lee's challenge was completed within about and hour of the challenge being set... how's that for efficiency!!! ( I KNOW!!!) and mine... well mine has taken a good 144hours plus to complete... yes I also know!!!!!

But... I've done it, and I have to say... I kinda like this ruffled ribbon technique, that is after I figured out an easier way of creating said ruffle without pulling my hair out... mumbling rather loudly.... sighing even louder and almost ( I do say ALMOST) giving up completely!!! hahaa... I'll share my easier way with you later.. maybe even a wee tutorial if you like... but then perhaps you all already know of an easier way, and I'm just a bit slow off the mark. How do you create your "Ruffles"? do let me know!! haha

Anyhoo.. enough rambling ( I tend to do that sometimes) and onto my card:-

And here's a little close up, just so you can actually see that it does say BIRTHDAY and not Happy IRTHDAY!!!... ooops.. sorry about that.. camera angle!!!!

Lee also created a STUNNING version of this flower... seriously you must go and check it out... GORGEOUS!!!! I decided to use Rose Red and some Old Olive Ribbon. I've kept it really CAS.. and I'm really happy with how it turned out. My problem however is that this little baby, needs to be posted... How do I get this in an envelope and sent through the post without it being ... well DESTROYED before it arrives!!! hmmmm

Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to tell me how your create your Ruffles.. I'd LOVE to hear!!

xx Sarah

Card:- Kraft, Whisper White

and... a little more photography!!!

Looking for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch? Hop on over to this post.

If you visited during the week you may have seen my little post on the Photography course I'm doing. I FINALLY got my assignment finished today... my goodness... after about 200 odd photos... YES indeed that many... a lot of critique (BY MYSELF!!!) and a fair amount of head banging... due mainly to the fact that I had many a photo I LOVED for my assignment, but didn't take it in the two forms required.. HATE that!!! hahaha

Anyhoo... I thought I'd pop on in and show you a few of the photos I took that I LOVED but were a part of the above mentioned "Head Banging" incident:-

My little Jorja giving me a very "hmmm" look!! hahah

A rare quiet moment.

A REGULAR ... oooohh .... WOW moment.

Miss Ella Bella being a wee bit sad and serious... check out those EYELASHES!!!!

And after more headbanging.. this awesome and gorgeous little teddy was the winner... this is what I've submitted for my assignment. My AWESOME Mum made this for Ella... of course was asked quite promptly by Jorja... "Gee... where's mine?"... never fear.. it's on it's way!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #63

Happy Sunday and of course HAPPY EASTER!!!!

I hope you are all enjoying the Easter celebrations with your family and loved ones.

Of course apart from and over abundance of chocolate today, we also have a fabulous Sweet Sunday Sketch for you to play along with... I hope you can play along.

Here is my card for today:-

And here is Karen's gorgeous sketch... and with a little excitement in my voice... NO TILTED PANELS... Phew!!!!:-

I've used my NEW Vintage Vogue set .... VERY, VERY Lovely!!! and my colour combo today is Kraft, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Close to Cocoa.

I fear that if I go into detail as to how I stamped all the layers on the card I'd probably confuse you. Oh, who am I kidding, I'd confuse myself more, so I'll leave it for you to looksie at.. hahah. The layer under the circle however, I will tell you a little more about.. that little layer.. well I've inked up the floral, flourishy type stamp from Vintage Vogue.. did I mention LOVELY!!! in Whisper White and stamped it across a piece of Kraft card stock and then to add a little more Vintagy feel to it I sponged around the outside in Close to Cocoa ink. I actually really like the softness of it.. what do you think?

Oh and some more EXCITING news.... Joanne Basile... our Guest Stamper for March.. well she isn't our Guest anymore.. NO.. she's going to be a permanent Sweet Sunday Stamper... AWESOME huh!!!!.. I'm VERY excited to be working with her each week.. her cards are AMAZING!!!!

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #20

Happy Friday!!! Hope you are all enjoying your Good Friday and are all ready for Easter and all the fun that it brings!!!

Today Keesh has given us a colour challenge to play along with, so I do hope you can find some time to play!!

Here's my card for today's challenge.. I've kept it Clean and Simple, mostly because I wanted to make something for my AWESOME and AMAZING Dad who has been working SOOOO hard here the past few weekends with my also FABULOUS hubby, giving the front garden a little BLITZ!!!

So bearing all that in mind, the most important part being that it is for a BLOKEY bloke here it it:-

And here is the colour swatch for you to see:-

I started with a base of Vanilla then added a layer or Choc Chip and some DSP from my long retired Outlaw pack which uses Creamy Caramel and Very Vanilla. The top panel is Brocade Blue which I've cut with my Scallop Edge Punch and then added a little paper piercing.. I was tempted to use my Apron Lace punch, but thought that my be a little "fancy" for a Blokey Bloke!!! I couldn't resist using just a little ribbon.. I don't think he'll mind too much, I'll just tell him to pretend it's a rag or something... hahaha, and the little button was my FIRST attempt at making my very own, although I got a little over zealous with the Crystal Effects and then wasn't PATIENT for long enough before I started fluffing about with it, so it's a little smudged ... remember ladies.. patience is a virtue when it comes to Crystal Effects.. hahaha.
The sentiment is my very own Handwriting using my Choc Chip Stampin' Write Marker.
