Colour Challenge #13

  1. Here is this weeks colour challenge by Kristina:-

Unfortunately I missed out on Kristina's last colour challenge because we had just come home from a week in Melbourne, and although I tried REALLY hard to muster up the energy to make a card, I am ashamed to say I FAILED!!!! (If you read my previous post you'll understand some more.. hahaha).. So I am SO SO happy that I have completed this weeks challenge.

The colours this week were Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, Wild Wasabi (all from the In Color Range) and Regal Rose and Whisper White. All that PINK to work with, you can all imagine my excitement when I cast my eyes on this one!!! hahaha

And here is my Card:-

I used Purely Pomegranate as the base of my card and then decided to tear a strip of River Rock
and attach some Wild Wasabi Double stitched ribbon. The first square is Regal Rose (large square) Wild Wasabi and Whisper White and the butterfly is from the Time Well Spent (Hostess Level 3 set). I coloured the butterfly using my blender pens with Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi and River Rock. The second set of squares are again Regal Rose for the larger one, then Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White. The stamps used here are from the Forever in my Heart set with the first stamped in River Rock then the smaller heart stamped in Purely Pomegranate. The final square is Regal Rose, River Rock and Whisper White. The flower is from the Time Well Spent set and coloured again using blender pens with Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose, River Rock. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the images on each of the squares.... here's a pic so you can see....
Hope you like!!!!

Keep checking for some more cards... I can't post them just yet, because the lovely people they are for haven't received them yet... but it wont be long!!!

Here are all the details for the cards:-

I'm Back!!!

Hello Everyone!!!!

Yes I'm still here... we've just come home from our week in Melbourne, which was fantastic... chilly!!! but great fun, except of course for the very glamourous stack I had out the front of the GPO!!!! You can imagine what was going through my mind... Baby Bump to protect and that's not all... I was carrying Jorja too at the time!!! But never fear.. apart from a sore knee and a slightly red face (that being me) we all came out of it unscathed!!!.

I will get busy this week and make some new creations to post for you all to look at.. just getting back into the swing of being home!!!!

So keep watching and I'll be back soon!!!

xx Sar

Colour Challenge #11

Here is this weeks colour challenge by the extremely talented Kristina Werner.

The colour combination was Whisper White, Rose Red, Old Olive, So Saffron and Going Grey. At first glance it looks like quite an easy combination... but it was a little more difficult than I had hoped. I knew what I wanted to do.... but that didn't work, so after putting it all away for a while and then going back to it... I FINALLY came up with something.

Here it is:-

I used a sheet of Textured Going Grey Cardstock as the base, then used my Scallop Circle Punch to cut out 3 Whisper White flowers. The centre of the flowers was done by using my circle punch and the DSP in Rose Red. I used my So many Sayings stamp set (which in now individually mounted... thanks to my WONDERFUL Dad!!!!) and stamped them in Old Olive and So Saffron. The butterfly is from another Hostess Set... Time Well Spent and I coloured it using my Blender Pens and Old Olive, Rose Red and So Saffron Ink Pads. The strip of paper at the bottom is from the Palete 'o' Prints in So Saffron and finished off with Whisper White Ribbon (taffeta) and the stems of the flowers are done by cutting a thin piece of Old Olive card stock so that it curled.

The flowers and butterfly are popped up on dimensionals. Here's a closer pic so you can see up close:-

Actually on close inspection... you can't really see it can you??? SORRY!!!

Anyway I hope you like what I've created.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Here is a list of all the tools:-

Stamps:- So Many Sayings (Hostess Level 1), Time Well Spent (Hostess Level 3)
Paper:- Old Olive, Going Grey (Textured), DSP Rose Red, DSP So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink:- Rose Red, Old Olive, So Saffron
Accessories:- White Ribbon, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Blender Pens.

Kylie's Card!!!!... FINALLY!!!

Finally!!!!!... I've made it, and now it is safe to show it to you all.

This card I made for one of my beautiful friends KYLIE!!!!... Now for the story. It was Kylie's Birthday in March and unfortunately we were undergoing some Kale' style cleanup and room re-shuffle here, which meant that all of my card making supplies were... well pretty much hidden amongst the endless amount of JUNK we were sorting through.... so I had to and I hate to say it... I had to BUY Kylie her Birthday card... Yes, that's right BUY it!!! I know absolutely terrible, and of all the people I didn't make a card for!!!! Well luckily for me, she forgave me for such an offence... Phew!!!

Why has it taken me so long to make, I hear you ask... well, this could not be just any ordinary card, it had to be EXTRA SPECIAL... so here is what I made for the Beautiful Kylie. I hope you like it.

I got the idea from browsing through the US IB&C. The Heart was pierced using my piercing mat and needle and then I used my White Pen to make it look like I'd been busy on the sewing machine! Then I attached the spotted heart with dimensionals just to lift it up a bit. The greeting is from (my soon to be individually mounted) So Many Sayings stampset and stamped in White. Add some ribbon, a button and some more dimensionals and card completed.

I hope you all like it!!

Here are all the tools:-

Stamps:- Big Deal Alphabet, So Many Sayings, Forever in my Heart
Paper:- Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink
Ink:- White, Purely Pomegranate, Bashful Blue
Accessories:- Paper Piercing Mat, Needle, Bashful Blue Grosgrain, Stampin' Dimensionals, Soft Subtle Buttons, Linen Thread.

Some NEW cards!!!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry, I've been a bit quite this last week. BUSY, BUSY, BUSY... and TIRED (very TIRED)!!!!
Anyway, enough of that. Thought I'd share a couple of new cards with you. These are two that I am considering making at a Stamp-A-Stack I'm planning on having later on this month.

I've got a couple more cards to show, but the people they are for haven't received them yet, so I wont post them until they do... just in case they take a peek!

The first one I've made especially for Sammy!!!! As much as I'm a PINK person, she is an Orange and Red person :o). I got the idea from a card in the current IB&C, just adapted the size and colours a bit. The second card I also saw in the IB&C (US) and loved in, so thought I'd give it a go.... the hardest part was deciding which stamp sets to use for each square.

Hope you like them. And here is what I used:-

Stamps:- Bold Butterfly (Flower), Forever in my Heart (Greeting), Big Bold Birthday (Circles behind the flower)
Paper:- Real Red, Confetti White, Wild Wasabi
Ink:- Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:- Silver Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Real Red Grosgrain, Linen Thread.

Card 2:-
Stamps:- Forever in my Heart, Greetings Galore, Pick a Petal

Colour Challenge #10

I've been dying to try my hand at one of these colour challenges which is due to the inspiration of Kristina Werner. So many of the other talented ladies blogs that I stalk on a regular basis are joining in, so I thought it was about time I had a go.... let go of all my creative inhibitions and dabble in colour combinations that under normal circumstances I'd probably be a little shy to try!! hahaha.

Here is this weeks challenge:-

Now for all of those who know me well, you will all know that when it comes to cards (oh ok pretty much anything then) I really struggle to NOT include something with just a dash of PINK... well I don't see ANY pink at all on this challenge... so for me this is HUGE!!!! well I am pleased to share with you all my creation and there is ABSOLUTELY no PINK in it at all.(Yay for me!!!)

I used a sheet of Not Quite Navy for the base of the card and stuck a piece of So Saffron DSP (from the Palette o' Prints Promotion) on top then cut a piece of Whisper White card stock and roughed up the edges and attached some Old Olive. I used my Scallop Circle punch (who would've thought I'd use this soooo much) and cut a piece of So Saffron DSP and attached a circle of Not Quite Navy which I'd stamped in the middle with a centre piece from my Pick a Petal stamp set in Whisper White to that I added a smaller flower stamped in So Saffron Ink and attached an Old Olive button. Then there's the strip of Not Quite Navy with a touch of Bashful Blue ribbon and yet another little So Saffron flower... I quess I over compensated for the fact that I didn't use PINK and added a few extra flowers. The words are from my So Many Sayings (Level 1 Hostess) stampset, which is such an amazing set of stamps and stamped that in Old Olive Ink. And there you have it... my PINKLESS creation.

Hope you like.
