sweet sunday sketch #45

Happy Sunday!!! Is it just me or are these Sundays coming around VERY VERY quickly!!! Not that I mind, I get to play with Karen's gorgeous Sketches... but seriously.... Christmas is definately sneaking up on me!!!

Back to the fabulous sketch that the lovely Karen has set for us this week. I've got to tell you the second I saw it, it did indeed let out little squeals of excitement... it's just LOVELY!.

First up, my card:-

And here is the GORGEOUS sketch to play with:-

Isn't it gorgeous. So for my card I used a colour combo of Kraft, Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and some Pink Pirouette. I do LOVE a good Pink and Green combo.. hahaha.
I also used my NEW Razzle Dazzle stampset, which is available (in Oz in the upcoming Summer Mini Catalogue). For the image I coloured the stamp using my Blender Pen and Markers. The scallop behind the image I made by cutting out 1" circles and adhering them to the back and then mounted that onto a Certainly Celery circle. I HAD to add some of my NEW Extra WIDE Pink Pirouette ribbon.... ooohhh it is DIVINE (that too is available in the upcoming Summer Mini) and also some Regal Rose Wide Grosgrain. The sentiment is from my Hostess Set Best Yet and is stamped in Garden Green.

Be sure to pop on over to the other Sweet Sunday Stamper's blogs for some amazing inspiration:-

And don't forget to link your card to Mr Linky on Karen's Blog so we can all see what you've created.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #16

It's Friday...ALREADY!!!!! I was thinking that after the Mad Hatter's Hen's Party, my weeks might slow down a wee bit... NOPE... I think they're about to get a whole lot busier. I've got to get ALL of my Chrissy shopping done, plus Jorja's 3rd Birthday party organised before we go to Hamilton Island in a couple of weeks, add to that numerous Bridesmaid dress fittings...ooooh la la!!!! BUT..... at least I can still sit down and make some cards... I like to call THAT time, my SANITY time!!! hahaha.

This week Keesh has got a fun Sketch for us... and you all know I LOVE a sketch.

Here is my card for this week:-

And here is the Sketch:-

I think I was VERY brave this week using one of my SCARIEST colours.... Pacific Point, and not just a little bit of it, a whole BIG bit of it!!!! oooohhh. My friends little boy is having a birthday next week, so I thought I'd use Keesh's sketch to make his card, and overcome my Pacific Point fear at the same time.

So I've started with Pacific Point then given I'm terrified of said colour, thought I may as well add a little bit more in the form of some DSP from my Good Morning Sunshine pack. Oh and some excitement... I finally got to use my BRAND NEW Circle Scissors.... yes.. I've been busily cutting out circles of all sizes, for no other reason than "because I can" hahaha. So using said NEW toy, I cut out another piece of DSP from Good Morning Sunshine, then to that added a Choc Chip Circle and a Kiwi Kiss circle (oh this one I used my NEW 1¾" circle punch)...more excitement!!! I've used my Party Hearty stamp set for this card, stamping the Celebrate You image in Kiwi Kiss then adding a Choc Chip button with some linen thread to the centre. I then inked up the Hat stamp from the same set in Choc Chip, Summer SUn and Pacific Point.

I've used two different sizes of Choc Chip ribbon for the "stripes" on the sketch and added a little piece of Hodgepodge.

mad hatters tea party!!!!

Last week, actually the last few weeks have seen me busy, busy, busy helping to plan my BEAUTIFUL friend Bec's Hens Doo. Us Bridesmaids decided to make it a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" theme and I nominated myself to make the invitations (which I haven't photographed yet... but I will I promise!!!) and some gifties and other bit and bobs for the day. (I know... funny I should nominate me!!!) hahaha.

I made three little gifts to give as prizes on the day. First up was this sweet little box which saw in the new upcoming Summer Mini.

I used Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Choc Chip and Whisper White and the NEW stampset (also available in the Summer Mini) called Hello Again.
Inside the box were some little Note Cards and Envelopes, which I decorated with the same stamp set and some DSP from my retired stash - Summer Picnic.

The next little gift I first saw on my gorgeous friend and fellow SU! demo Sarah Klass's blog (*waving*). I absolutely LOVED making this little pressie, and will definately be making more:-

This one I've used Kraft and some Riding Hood Red DSP with some Pink Pirouette Ribbon and again the Hello Again stamp set. Inside I've popped in one of my SU! pens, a little pink Post-it note (well actually the whole pad!!! lol)... and a little SU! magnet.

The third little pressie was this gorgeous little oragami box... these are so quick and easy to make. Inside was a little gift of body cream and shower gel.

I didn't stop there though... Oh no!!! For those of you that know me, you would also know that when it comes to organising little parties and then having the chance to make little crafty things, I tend to get a wee bit excited and then can't seem to stop myself. Soooooo... given it was infact a Mad Hatters Tea Party, I went about making a few little "Eat Me" and "Drink Me" tags... and yep.. I did let out little squeals of excitement when I'd finished... I know.. It doesn't take much.

And here we are (R to L) Bec - The Beautiful Bride to Be (with the White feathers), and Kylie, myself, and Karen (The Bridesmaids).

We had such a FUN day and night!!! Now I can't wait for the wedding.. oh did I mention it was on HAMILTON ISLAND!!!!!!! Wooo Hooo!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

sweet sunday sketch #44

Happy Sunday!!!!! WOW... what a week here in the Kale' abode!!!! It's been a busy week planning and getting things ready for my gorgeous friend and Beautiful Bride to Be 'Bec's' Hen's Doo. I'll tell you all the goss about it soon..

I loved this weeks sketch from Karen as soon as I saw it.. and NO there are absolutely no crooked panels, not one!!!! Phew!!!

I've actually made a scrap page for this week, but I hope to get the chance to sit down later on during the week and make a card with the same layout.. FUN!!!!

Here's my page for this week:-

And here is the gorgeous sketch Karen gave us to work with:-

I was a BIG bit excited this week because I got to use my Brand New Circle Scissors for the very first time... well ok let me explain a little... I got to use it to DRAW my circle... you see I haven't got my glass mat just yet... should arrive this week, so I had to hand cut it, but it was very exciting to use it anyway!!!! ... yep.. doesn't take much!!! hahaha.

I've used my Scrappin' Kit - Rock-a-Bye Girl to match with other layouts I'd made for Ella's first birthday. The base is Regal Rose with some Pink Pirouette added as the first layer then I cut a circle of the heart DSP from the scrappin' kit. The strip across the bottom is Kiwi Kiss and is one of the accents from the kit, I also added a strip of Kiwi Kiss ribbon. I used one of the flower embelishments also from the kit and added a little Pink Pirouette flower from my Felt Fusion Too tin and a little rhinestone brad. The second little circle element is a little Kiwi Kiss button with some linen thread.

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #15

Happy Friday!!! Hope you've had a wonderful week. This has been such a BUSY week, who would've thought planning a Hen's Doo would take so long. I'll share all the details with you after the big event... just incase the Beautiful Bride to be is reading!!

Now, onto Keesh's Inkspiration Challenge for this week. Today we have and Inspiration challenge... FUN!!!!! and I can't wait to see what you all come up with for this one.

I must apologise for the picture of my card. I would have to say that this card would have to be the MOST difficult card to photograph... I really struggled to get a GOOD photo of it... so I'm SO Sorry.

Here it is:-

And here is the Inspiration picture to work with:-

Aren't they GORGEOUS.

I showed this card to my hubby wanting his "creative" opinion... dangerous sometimes.. (Sarah if you're reading I'm sure you're giggling!!).... His first words were "I actually like it" and then without even taking a breath.... "that's the darkest card you've ever made... that's going to be hard to take a photo of!!!" My response to that.... " I KNOW!!!" hahaha.

I've used Black Textured cardstock for the base and then using my Pocket Silhouettes set clear embossed the image onto it. I used one of my Square Metal edged tags with another image of the same stamp embossed with Silver this time and mounted it up on some Dimensionals. I thought I'd got for a 'non-traditional' wedding card here, and added the Mr and Mrs from Basic Phrases which was also embossed in Silver and attached using a little Rhinestone brad. To finish it off some Black Ribbon.

So what do you think... do you like my "non-traditional" Wedding card or do you prefer something a little less dark?

sweet sunday sketch #43

Happy Sunday!!!! I'm SOOOOOO glad it's Sunday... and particularly more excited this Sunday than most... WHY I hear you ask.... well not only is it Sweet Sunday Sketch time, BUT, my GORGEOUS hubby is finally back home after being away for 10days.... YAY!!!!!! I would have to say this is the longest stint he has ever been away.... I'm thinking he shouldn't do it again.. hahaha.

Anyhoo..... onto the reason you are here... Sweet Sunday Sketch!!! Karen set us a "doozy" this week... well ok, probably not for you all, but for me.... GOODNESS... I think I had about 5 attempts at this one (all of which ended up in the bin) before I came up with the one I'm about to show you!!! You're probably wondering why I had so much trouble.... well.... there is indeed a CROOKED panel on this here sketch.... my Right Angled, nice and straight card making brain went into serious panic mode... don't worry though it didn't last too long!!! hahaha. (Love Ya Karen - *waving* and *smiling*!! hahaha)

Onto the card:-

And here is Karen's tricky sketch (go on laugh at me, you know you want to... it's not that bad ... Right?... hahaha:-

I decided to keep it nice and simple given my current aversion to anything that isn't straight... perhaps I should play around with this one a little more and overcome my FEAR!!!
Sooooo...I started out with a base of Kraft card stock and added some Brilliant Blue DSP from my retired Jersy Shore pack then added a little bit of Bashful Blue Ribbon and a Brilliant Blue button... I am getting through my button collection!!!! I decided to use the hat stamp from Party Hearty and used my markers to colour them all in. I popped that onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie and distressed the edges a wee bit. So now I've actually tackled to fears in one card... A crooked card AND a BOYS card... YAY!!!!

Be sure to pop on over to the other Sweet Sunday Stamper's Blogs for some amazing inspiration:-

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #15

Happy Friday!!!!!
It's time for another Inkspiration Challenge, this week Keesh has set a Colour challenge for us all.

Here is my card for this week:-

And here are the colours to work with:-

Oh, you may think this layout looks familar....well it is, I used the same sketch that Keesh set for us last week... I REALLY enjoyed playing with that particular sketch so I figured WHY NOT!!!

It felt a bit strange making a 'Autumn' Coloured card in Spring, but to make it a little easier, I decided it was time my little Trendy Trees came out for a play.

I've used Choc Chip as the base of the card then layered it with some Very Vanilla and some Really Rust DSP from the retired Falls Flowers pack. I then added a Choc Chip strip and a little Choc Chip Grosgrain just to give it a little texture and contrast. I used my Round Tab punch to create the large Choc Chip circle... (oh I CAN'T wait for my NEW BIG circle punch to arrive!!!..ooops Sneak Peek again!!!) Then used my Scallop circle for the Very Vanilla scallop. There is a Really Rust circle and then the little tree stamped in Really Rust with some "dabs" of Close to Cocoa (see you thought I'd forgotten Close to Cocoa didn't you!! hahaha) onto Very Vanilla. I added a little Very Vanilla ribbon embelishment to it too. Up to the top of the card .. FINALLY a use for my since retired Really Rust buttons with a little Linen Thread and the sentiment is from Basic Phrases.

Hope you like this one... perhaps if you are one of my US readers you might like to have this card for yourself.... given you are in the middle of your autumn (FALL). If you think you'd like to receive this little card then be sure to leave me a comment. I'll choose a winner next Friday!!!
