Baby News!!!!

No!!! Not mine... well not yet anyway!! oohhhh!!! hahaha
Some gorgeous friends of ours had a wee little GORGEOUS, ADORABLE, Sweet little daughter on Saturday, so I thought it only fitting that I make a little card and of course accompanying gifty to go with it.

To add to that.. I've FINALLY managed to sit down and make an entry for the FABULOUS Just Add Ink challenge this week. The JAI gals do an AMAZING job each week, and I'm so sad that I don't get to play along more often... you know what.. I must make time!!! Yes ... that's what I'll do.

Anyhoo.. here is the little array of goodies I created this afternoon. First up is the little card:-

And here is the little gift box I made for the SWEET little outfit I got for her:-

The layout from the card is from the SSSC#74. I thought it was PERFECT for the JAI challenge this week.. allowing me to use LOTS of DSP. With the little elephant on the front.. such a cutie... I've inked her up in Whisper White Craft ink, and then once dried, which takes a WHILE, I sponged over the top of it with some Pink Pirouette Ink.. just to soften it up a little. Oooh AND, I found a new trick for doing such inking.. especially when inking over Whisper White.. which as previously touched upon takes AGES to dry. Right.. my little trick... well rather than inking up my sponge from the ink pad itself.. I squished the ink into the lid and picked it up from there.. yes I know.. you're probably all going... DUH!!! at the moment.. but for me it was one of those HEAD SLAPPING.. why on earth didn't I think of that before.. I could've avoided WHITE ink on my ink pads... MOMENTS!!!! hahaha
The paper is from my Sweet Pea pack and the base of the card is Kraft. I've also used some Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon.. oohhhhh, and the little ear.. has had it's fair share of PLONKING into the Dazzling Diamond pot.

The little box I made using some Kraft for the base and then some Rose Red for the top. I made a little band.. which after completing said box, probably should've been made to go around the entire box!!!. Anyone else make a box and then wish they'd made it a smidge bigger?.. yep!!!
The band though has been made with some Kraft cardstock, and some Pretty in Pink DSP from the Sweet Pea pack and finished off with some more Pink Satin ribbon.. ooohhhh. I also made a little tag the same as the front of the card.

I've JUST come home from having little snuggles with the beautiful Alyssa.. and may I had.. that I WAS clucky BEFORE I went.. but now!!!! WOW!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #75

Happy Sunday!!!! It's one of my most favourite days...Why?... because it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch!!!!

Now I must admit to not quite knowing what I was going to do with this one.. I had HEAPS of ideas floating around in my head... but none of those seemed to translate very well to the made card...ooopsss... so yes.. there were quite a few thing placed in the REJECT pile. BUT.... after a little more fluffing about, I FINALLY came up with something that I'm REALLY pleased with. Oh and one other little suprise.. wait for it folks.. this card had not ONE ounce of PINK.. nope.. not one... OK it does have Kraft... hahha.. but NO PINK.. AND... I've used a considerable amount of a particularly scary colour for me... Taken with Teal... YEP... how's that for BRAVE!!! hahah

Ok enough rambling from me.. how about I show you the card I've come up with, and you can decide whether you like it or not:-

And here is Karen's FUN, FUN, FUN sketch:-

I've used Taken with Teal (scary colour) as the base then added some Choc Chip and some Teal DSP from my Sweet Pea pack. The ribbon underneath the square layer I've attached using a neat little trick I came up with... can you guess? I'll have to share that one with you later.. a bit like my Faux Suede tutorial... it's coming folks.. I promise!!!
The circle was cut using my Circle Scissors Plus and was sponged around the edges with Choc Chip Ink. I then stamped my image from Party Hearty in Choc Chip, re-stamped it again and cut out the 'b' to add a little dimension and then added a little Choc Chip ribbon tag and the centre present in Teal. I used my Simply Serif Alphabet and Numbers to make 'Jack' and 'Four' and then used my 1/2" circle punch to punch them out. They've all been sponged with Choc Chip ink too. I used the same method for the little party hats along the bottom.

This little card is for my Godson Jack.. who will be turning ... yep.. FOUR in July.. how organised am I??!!! hahaha

Be sure to pop on over and visit the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stamper's for some amazing inspiration:-
And don't forget to link your card to InLInkz over at Karen's blog so we can all see what you've created.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Inkspiration Challenge #29 {a SKETCH}

PINK!!!!!! It gladdens my heart, fills it with JOY and above all else it makes me SMILE!!! I know, that's kinda weird to start my blog post for this weeks Inkspiration Challenge... But I just had to let you know!! haha.. Well ok.. for some of you, that revelation will be absolutely NO surprise ... after all I've NEVER EVER hidden my passion of all things PINK.. ahaha.
You may though be curious also, as to why I started my post like that .... well like I mentioned PINK... makes me SMILE.... it really does... and this card in all it's PINKNESS is for a special someone, who needs a little SMILE.. although she already has one of the MOST amazing SMILES I've ever seen.. I hope this will add a little something special to her day.

This week the amazing Cindy is hosting the challenge, because it's her week to host she's added a little twist to this weeks challenge... the twist... use something you've been hoarding on your craft desk... OK.. so I'm REALLY stretching this one.. only because I was SOOOOO SUPER organised and had my card made a whole week in advance that I forgot about the twist this week.. oops.. but I can honestly say that my Pink Pirouette DSP used on my card has been sitting in my paper stash for almost 12mths.. not because I don't like it.. after all it is PINK right?, but because I can't bear to cut into it... hahaha.. anyone else have the same problem?.. Please say yes!!! hahah

So.. onto the card.. right?.. well here it is:-

And here is Keesh's FABULOUS sketch:-

I've used Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory as my cardstock colour combo. Some Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede as my Ink choice.. actually I'm LOVING this colour combo.. these colours work SO nicely together :o). And some GORGEOUS Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery Ribbon. Of course the STAR of the show in the fabulous Vintage Vogue stamp set and just to give it a little sparkle I've added some Pink Rhinestones. Oh and I almost forgot.. the circle.. well that was cut with the assistance of my FABULOUS Circle Scissors Plus!!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #74

Happy Sunday!!! Hope you've had a fabulous weekend. Ours has been a little UP and DOWN this week. My little ones have been a little under the weather this week.. that was a DOWN, yesterday was by gorgeous hubby's birthday.. that was an UP.. but amongst all the UP from birthday celebrations, we had another DOWN with my girls being REALLY unwell last night!!! I'm hoping that tomorrow being the start of another week will be BRIGHT and CHEERY for the entire week at the Kale' abode!! See I can see the positive.. hahaha.
Anyway.. you surely didn't pop on over here to read about my ups and downs ... rather I'm sure to see what FABULOUS sketch Karen has given us to play along with this week. Oh and if this card seems a little strange, untoward, crazy, just plain.. UMMMMM... I'll put that all down to my complete lack of sleep last night.. but I digress.. I'm seeing the positive side.. right!! hahaha
Onto my card:-

And here is Karen's AWESOME sketch.. she's BRILLIANT isn't she????

I've used some Choc Chip, Taken with Teal.. I KNOW!!!! GASP!!!, Pumpkin Pie and Kraft..( sorry I couldn't resist).. there is however NO pink!!!!
All of the DSP is from my little stash of Sweet Pea DSP!!!! The stamp set is of course TRENDY TREES and I've used Teal, Pumpkin and Chocolate markers for that and the sentiment is from my Life Definitions and stamped in Choc Chip. The little extras I added are a splash of Choc Chip Ribbon.. see the little tag there.. hahaha, and some Linen Thread.

All in all a pretty simple card and one I hope my GORGEOUS hubby will like.. no it's not his Birthday card.. he got that one yesterday.. this is a JUST BECAUSE card.. a just because I LOVE him with all my heart and think he's AMAZING!!! Awwwww!!

Inkspiration Challenge #28 {colour}

** If you've popped over to see the Inkspiration Winners and Honorable Mention for this week pop down to THIS post**

Happy Friday!!! I hope you've all had a fabulous week and are looking forward to the weekend.
Keesh has left us with a colour challenge today.. and I must admit.. I did struggle a wee bit with this one... first off everything I made seemed to resemble a VIOLET CRUMBLE Chocolate Bar and then it seemed to resemble some sort of Marmalade Jar.. hahaha.. I KNOW!!!!.. Anyway I finally settled on this creation, although the colours were still throwing me, so I'm not 100% happy with this one.. but with a couple of sick little flossies.. I've run out of time to get another one made.. so I hope ... REALLY HOPE.. I don't frighten you all off!!!!

Here's my card:-

And here is the colour combo for you to play along with:-

Ok... where to start... righty.. the base... that would be Chocolate Chip and then to that I added a little layer of Whisper White and to that some Pumpkin Pie DSP from my Sweet Pea pack!!!
The little bits to the side next... the little strip is a thin piece of Choc Chip which has been BLINGIFIED and quite comprehensively BLONKED into some glitter, I then pulled out my Big Shot and used my fabulous Sizzlets Lots of Tags and then cut out some more DSP to create the centre. I made the tulip using my Two Step Bird Punch and then used the 'F' stamp from Vintage Vogue to get the 'friends' sentiment and hand wrote the 'fabulous' part.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #73

Happy Sunday!!! I hope you've had a fabulous weekend. It's time for another wonderful sketch from Karen.. So I hope you'll be able to play along.

Here's my card for today:-

And here is Karen's gorgeous sketch:-

I've gone for a little bit of Water Colouring today.... and I had HEAPS of fun!!!!

I've started out with some Baja Breeze and added a splash of Basic Grey and Very Vanilla to the mix.
The Rose from Fifth Avenue Floral is stamped in Stazon then coloured with my Aqua Painter and Baja Breeze Ink. The base layer of Baja has had the Rose from Fifth Ave Floral stamped over it in Versamark as has the Very Vanilla strip, then I added a layer of Baja Breeze DSP and a little Ribbon and Bling to finish it off.

I'm actually really happy with how it turned out and actually have a little someone in mind for this one, so I hope they like it.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #27

Happy Friday!!!! Where does the week go??? It is indeed time for another fabulous Inkspiration Challenge... and today it's SKETCH time!!!

You are in luck today.. because I'm running a wee bit late so you wont have to wade through all my chatter before I get to my creation ... well ok apart from this little bit of chatter.. hahaha.

Ok so onto the challenge. Here is my card for today:-

And here is Keesh's sketch for you to play along with:-

I have to apologise because I just couldn't seem to get a GOOD photo of this card.. .I'll have to have another go tomorrow!! So Sorry about that. The stamp set is my Papertrey Ink Blooming Button Bits.. and I've stamped the image in Versamark then added some clear embossing powder and given it a blast with my heat tool.. then sponged it with Baja Breeze ink... the photo unfortunately isn't really showing the Emboss Resist.. very well... so you may need to get your nose right up to the screen to really see it... hahaha

I've had another Faux Diva moment and attacked a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock with my bone folder to creation a Faux Suede panel and also added some Close to Cocoa DSP for the other panel. Rather than use an 'oval' as per the sketch I've used a little creative license and added some GORGEOUS satin ribbon and very cheekily copied the little tag that was on my GORGEOUS Convention gift from Fiona, by tracing it and cutting it out... I know, I know.. I PROMISE I will be purchasing the Tiny Tag Set and matching punch ASAP!!! hahaha
The buttons are Baja Breeze and I've added a little pink bling to mix too.

I hope you like it and can actually see past the not so good photo. :D

Sweet Sunday Sketch #72

It's SUNDAY!!! Which means it's time for one of my VERY FAVOURITE things.... Sweet Sunday Sketch!!!

Once again, Karen has come up with another fabulous sketch to play with and here is my card:-

Here is Karen's sketch:-

As mention in my previous post, I've been on somewhat of a Faux Suede expedition... and this card has not ONE but TWO lots of it. ... I know... I couldn't help myself.

I've used Baja Breeze, Choc Chip, Naturals Ivory and Kraft as my Colour Combo. Starting with Baja Breeze, I then added a layer of Choc chip and some Baja Breeze DSP. The two panels on top are Choc Chip and Kraft, both of which were attacked quite ferociously with my Bone Folder to create the Suede look. I then added one of my Sizzlets Lots of Tags... Label.. I have quite the little stash of these after creating my Convention Swaps... so thought I'd use one of them here.. hahaha.. and that's been sponged with some Choc Ink to soften it up a little bit. The stamp set I used is Party Heart and I've also added a little bit of paper piercing around the two panels.

I think this needed a little something else, but after fiddling with it too much and not like what I did and then having to re-attach the Choc Chip panel, I decided to leave it be. hahaha

Be sure to pop on over and visit the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stamper's for some amazing inspiration:-

Inkspiration Challenge #26

Happy Friday!!! Hope you've had a lovely week and for those of us in Western Australia.. you're looking forward to a LONG weekend... YAY... gotta love a LONG weekend!!!

It's time of course for another Inkspiration Challenge and today we've got a COLOUR challenge for you.

Here's my card for today:-

And here's the colour sample for you to play along with:-

OK... so don't PANIC about all the Neutral colours here... I PROMISE you can get them to work. Have fun with it... and don't forget to link your creation over at Keesh's blog so we can all see what you've come up with.. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the creations with this combo!!!

I've started out with a base of Kraft and added some Whisper White as a panel with some Basic Grey DSP and some more Kraft which I attacked with my Bone Folder to create a Faux Suede look. ( Stay tuned for some more FAUX SUEDE creations... I've kinda gone on a little crazy escapade with it and created about THREE creations... I'll give it a little break after this week I Promise!! hahaha)
But.. back to the faux suede.. I do LOVE how it gives you another form of texture to your card, whilst keeping it kinda soft in the process. I've also used some of my Real Red Polka Dot ribbon, which I've flipped over to the plain side and my Sizzlets Lots of Tags to create my little centre piece. The stamp set is Party Hearty and I've also added a few little Real Red Buttons on either side.
