Sweet Sunday Sketch #24

Sweet Sunday Sketch time again!!!!! Yippee!!!! Karen has set yet another lovely sketch for us to work with this week.

The second I saw it I knew I could create something quick and simple.... always a good thing isn't it.
I also wanted to break out my brand spankin' new 'Party Hearty' set, soooo that I did.

Here is the card I came up with:-

Here is Karen's lovely Sketch:-

I used Chocolate Chip as the base... who doesn't LOVE chocolate for their birthday.... huh?
Then used some of my Au Chocolat DSP (retired), I then added some Riding Hood Red DSP and some Choc Chip Grosgrain. The large circle is made by using my Round Tab Punch and I stamped the Celebrate You stamp in Choc Chip onto some Very Vanilla card, added a circle of Riding Hood Red and then the little pressie stamp in Choc Chip to the centre. And that's pretty much it. I told you it was a quick one, and I reckon it could be used for a 'BOYS' card too. What do you think.

Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by.

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #9

Well Hello There!!!!

I was so sad to not be able to play along with Keesh's challenge last week... My little darlings were both unwell, and then thought it would be nice to share it with Mummy, so, I've had my hands full and not with lovely stamps and ribbon. hahaha.

Anyway, I am feeling a tad better today, so thought I'd sit down and play EARLY this week, just incase the inevitable should happen... fingers crossed, it's GONE for good.

Keesh has set a Colour Challenge this week and the lovely colours are Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Whisper White.... mmmmmm LOVELY aren't they.

Here's the card I came up with:-

Now I received my GORGEOUS Fifth Avenue Floral set on Wednesday and have been itching to play with it.... but it's had to wait until TONIGHT!!!!!!! Wooo Hooo!!!!
I've used the same layout as this card I made a little while ago, and why the temptation to play along and use the same and equally as gorgeous Trendy Trees was great, I remained strong and played with my newbie.

I started with Baja Breeze as the base and layered it with some Ruby Red and onto that some Basic Grey DSP. The smaller layer is Ruby Red and I've stamped one of the smaller flowers from the set in Ruby Red onto that. I used the same flower stamped onto some water colour paper which I embossed with White Embossing powder before colouring with my Aqua Pens and some Baja Breeze Ink... I'm thinking now that I probably should've played a bit more and increased the depth of colour a wee bit... I'll remember that for next time (I'm a bit new to water colouring you see!!). I also stamped the sentiment from the same set in Baja Breeze and that has all been popped up onto some dimensionals. The Ribbon is Baja Breeze and I secured the bow ( which I must say, I'm very Very proud of!!! hahahaha) with a Rhinestone Brad.

Now, please let me elaborate on my BOW!!!! You know how you can spend close to an hour sometimes (well maybe not everyone, maybe just me!!) fluffing around trying to tie your bow so it looks all lovely.... anyone??? Well tonight it just sort of happended the very FIRST time I tried... it's like all the fluffing around has finally paid off... hahaha.. The test though, will I be able to do it again.. and will I remember how I did it... hmmmmm.. I shall let you know.. hahaha.
(sorry about the little digression!!!)

I hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by.

Kristina's Colour Challenge #55

Hello There!!!! Hope you are all well... It's been FREEZING here today. It's time for Kristina's Colour Inspiration Challenge, and I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to get this card done on time... well ok to be honest, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. But, I've FINALLY managed to finish it and get it posted for you to have a looksie at.

I got my inspiration for this card from Dawn's gorgeous handmade flowers and used the layout from this card from the lovely Ann. And of course the colours from the talented Kristina. WOW that's a HUGE amount of INSPIRATION!!!

The colours we had to play with today were Vanilla, Rust, Grey and Mustard.

Here's what I came up with:-

Here's the GORGEOUS inspiration photo from Kristina... isn't that Skirt gorgeous and THOSE shoes.... well say no more!!!!

I fluffed around with this card for AGES!!!!... and it quite nearly didn't make it to a photographing, nor Blogging state. I finally settled on Very Vanilla as the base and then added some Really Rust card and DSP (from Falls Flowers - RETIRED). Then some Very Vanilla Wide Grosgrain and a More 4 Mustard button ( also Retired. The layers of the flowers are Really Rust, More Mustard, Very Vanilla and the centre and leaves are Basic Grey. I've added a clear button to the centre too.
The sentiment is from the hostess set 'Sweet Little Sentiments' and I've stamped that in Really Rust and mounted it onto some more Rust cardstock.

Hope you like it. And a HUGE thankyou to the lovely ladies cards that inspired my creation.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23

Hello There!!! Apologies for being so quiet. My two little poppets have both been a little unwell this week, so I've been busy giving them extra Mummy cuddle or 'CUGGLES' as Jorja likes to say, wiping runny noses and of course the horrible task of cleaning up unpleasant little accidents... Poor little darlings. Hopefully though they are both on the mend and Mummy can get back to making more cards!!!

I just can't go the week without making a card for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. Even if it does have to be made in stages... like this card was. I started it last night, sat down again to finish it this afternoon, but had to run and fix Jorja and now finally have managed to finish it.

Here's what I came up with:-

And here is the lovely sketch Karen gave us to work with. I do have to admit I struggled a little bit with this one... not sure WHY... I think I made it more difficult that I needed too.... hmmmmm story of the week ... difficult.

I'm determined to overcome my fear of Pacific Point, so I've used it on this card. I started with some Choc Chip (chocolate ALWAYS makes you feel better, RIGHT!!! haha), and added some punched out squares of Good Morning Sunshine DSP. There is a layer of Pacific Point which I've cut with my Scallop Edge Punch and added a row of Paper Piercing above that. A touch of Choc Chip Grosgrain (see more Chocolate!!!) and a little pit of retired Pewter Hodgepodge. The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point ( I told you I was determined... hahaha) and it is from my Basic Phrases Stamp Set. I also added a little birdie from my Cheep Talk set, and he is stamped in Summer Sun with a little bit of Choc Chip card attached for his wing.

Hope you like!!! I'm off now to devour the Rice Pudding my Mum (aka Bear) made for me.... and I have to tell you it is unbelievably SCRUMDIDILIUMPTIOUS!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #22 and a Raspberry Suite Colour Combo

It's Sweet Sunday Sketch time again...YAY... Gosh I love doing these sketches. And this weeks one albeit BEAUTIFUL when I first looked at it I thought I might struggle. But I did indeed enjoy it. So do you want to see the goods.... of course, right?

Oh, I almost forgot... not an uncommon occurance by myself of late!!!! I've combined Karen's fabulous sketch with Dawn's beautiful Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge, again, wasn't too sure how I was going to go with the colour combo...afterall it had BLACK in it.... ooohhh scary sometimes!!!! But again... I think I coped pretty well.

Sooooo... here is my creation, which was actually inspired by this gorgeous card of Dawn's (just adored it the moment I saw it... you know one of those sit there with your mouth open moments!!!...:-

And here is the sketch Karen gave us to work with:-

I used Basic Black textured card as my base then added some Certainly Celery DSP (retired) as my green element, along the bottom and the side. The flourish on Karen's sketch on the left hand side I added to my card by stamping in versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. Ooopps almost forgot AGAIN, the flourish is from my Seasons of Joy stamp set...see who said it was just a Christmas set!!! I then cut out a Top Note from the template I got of the SU! Demo Website.... ooohh gotta LOVE being a DEMO!!! and cut it in half and attached to the bottom layer of DSP, then added some Certainly Celery ribbon and a bow with a Very Vanilla Button. Onto the Top Note, I used my flourish again which was stamped in Versamark and clear embossed and the I added a flower from my Cheep Talk set stamped in Certainly Celery and added a Rhinestone Brad to the centre. The sentiment is from the Hostess Set Best Yet and that is stamped in Certainly Celery and added to a Certainly Celery circle scallop.

Hope you like this one, I really enjoyed putting it together.

Thanks for stopping by.

Inkspiration Challenge #8

Talk about being on fire!!! As soon as I saw Keesh's Inkspiration Challenge #8 TODAY, actually this afternoon...nope actually at about 6pm ish!!! I just had to sit down and make a card.

The challenges I've done this past week have all been pretty BRIGHT, so it was actually nice to use some soft colour on this one.

I've been wanting to make a card using Kraft as a base and White ink onto it, so this was the PERFECT opportunity to have a go.

And the Inspiration piece:-

Aren't those cushions DIVINE!!!!

Anyhoo, I used Mellow Moss, Whisper White and Kraft Cardstock. I stamped the branch from Cheep Talk in Whisper White (mental note.... DON'T FIDDLE once STAMPED!!!!) - I might remake it and re post later!!! (smacking my hand at the moment!!!). Then I added some little flowers, again from Cheep Talk, stamped in Mellow Moss and added a little white dot in the centre with my Gel Pen. The larger flower is also Cheep Talk, stamped in Mellow Moss and I added a Rhinestone Brad to the centre. The sentiment is from Best Yet (Hostess Set) and I added some Mellow MOss ribbon too.

Hope you like.

Thanks for stopping by.

More {best wishes} Circles!

Back Again!!!! I'm thinking I should have 'Jammie' days more often. TWO cards made, finished, photographed and BLOGGED tonight... I think I should calm down!!! hahaha

Here's a card I made using the Weekend Sketch Challenge #84.

I had some bits and pieces lying around on my desk and this sketch was PERFECT for using them up.

I used the lovey colour combo of Choc Chip, Kraft, Rose Red and Very Vanilla AGAIN!!!!

I stamped one of the images from the set onto some Kraft card stock using Choc Chip, and these were layered onto some Rose Red Card stock. Then I used my Round Tab punch to create the large circle and stamped the scallop image onto some Very Vanilla in Rose Red Ink. There's a little Rhinestone Brad in the centre holding it all together and a splash of the lovely Rose Red Wide Double Stitched Ribbon to finish it off.

This is for my SIL's birthday, so I hope she likes it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate - Kristina's Colour Challenge #54

WOW!!!! It seems like forever since I've done one of the amazing Colour Inspiration Challenges set by the AWESOME Kristina!!!

I wasn't sure how I was going to go with this one... it's got some pretty bright colours to work with, but I managed to come up with a little something.

Sooooo... here is the challenge picture:-

Isn't that car seat cover DIVINE!!!!! Shame little people don't keep them looking like that!!! hahaha
The colours to use were Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, Green Galore and Whisper White.

And here is the card I made:-

Believe me when I tell you this is not what was in my head when I started. I was thinking of making a little boys card.... hmmmmmm... I'm thinking NOT now!!!!
I haven't actually used Taken with Teal before, and would you believe me if I told you I don't even own a Taken with Teal Ink Pad or Marker!!!!
I've made a card like this before here, and thought given the colours and brightness of the challenge, a nice SIMPLE card was the go.
I've got just the person to give this to so I hope SHE likes it.

Thanks for stopping by.
And I 'll be back soon with another card to share.

A Sweet Sunday Sketch meets an Inkspiration Colour Challenge

Hello, Hello!!!.. Hope you are all well. It is of course time for Karen's lovely Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and this week I used the colours from the lovely Keesh's Inkspiration Colour Challenge.

Oohhh what a treat both challenges were. Karen's sketch is just AWESOME... so many cards you can make with this one, and it's a nice and simple sketch too... so why not pop on over and have a go!!! Oh and Keesh's colours... yummy... BRIGHT.. but YUMMY!

Keesh's colours were Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. Now I've warned you that this may be VERY BRIGHT... so take a wee moment to prepare your eyes. OK you ready???

Here it is:-

And here is the picture of Karen's lovely sketch:-

Gorgeous Sketch isn't it?

I used Pink Passion as the base then cut some square using my square punch in Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery DSP (both of these unfortunately retired). Then I cut another larger squere in Pink Passion and one in Whisper White to adhere to the middle. My flower is 'Hand made' and boy was it fun and Sooooooo simple. If you want to see how to make these gorgeous little creations yourself, then pop on over and visit Dawn... she's so very clever and her little tutorial is FANTASTIC. Oh dear I got a bit excited there, so, my flower is made by tearing circles of Pumpkin Pie, Pink Passion, Certainly Celery card stock and then I added a button to the centre of it and attached it with some linen thread. The leaves are also just cut out freehand using some spare Certainly Celery DSP.
Oh and not to forget a teensy weeny bit of stamping... the sentiment... is from the lovely Short and Sweet set and I stamped it in Whisper White.

So there you go. My two challenges in one. Hope you like.

Thanks for stopping by.

Circle Circus and Two Challenges in One!!

What a mouthful that was!!! hahaha. I've been wanting to have a go at a couple of challenges lately one being Dawn's Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge and the other being the 2 Sketches 4 You... so I can't tell you my joy in being able to combine the two of them into one card and the bonus of being able to use the lovely Circle Circus Stamp Set too. YAY!!!!

The colours for Dawn's challenge are DIVINE.... Chocolate, Vanilla (Cream), Bright Pink and Kraft.... YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!! and the Sketch was just lovely.

Here's what I came up with:-

I attached some Very Vanilla Ribbon to the side with a Rhinestone Brad and popped it up on a few Dimensionals. then added some GORGEOUS Rose Red Ribbon (SU!) and the sentiment 'Friend' from Basic Phrases was stamped in Choc Chip on some Very Vanilla card and then onto some Rose Red before being attached with a bit of Linen Thread.

A little bit of MOJO!!!

I've been wanting to participate in the MOJO Monday Sketch Contest for AGES!!!! Well... Finally I have!!! Woohoo!!!. Considering my MOJO seems to be having a little vacation this week... Oh MOJO... where are you?????

It was such a lovely little sketch to play along with, but for some reason NOTHING I wanted to happen with my card, seemed to be happening. I changed colours a few times, I changed stamps a few times... oh and lets not even get going on how many times I changed ribbon!!!!
Anyway, here is what I finally settled on:-

I decided on a colour combo of Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and a touch of Mellow Moss.
I layerd some Pink Pirouette onto the Close to Cocoa and then added some DSP from Candy Lane... have I mentioned before how much I LOVE this pack of DSP???? Oh LOTS!!! hahaha.
I used the same technique I used in this card for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, that being stamping the sentiment from Best Yet and then using my Pocket Silhouettes to create a 'Silhouette' behind it in Pink Pirouette. THEN.... I thought I'd try my hand at creating my very own paper flower. I've seen this technique been used quite a bit out there in BLOGLAND.. and have wanted to have a go... so why not... and off I went flower making. I used Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Close to Cocoa cirlces, which I roughed up a bit with my paper distresser and then secured with a Rhinestone Brad. The leaves I just cut out freehand and attached. Oh and there is a little bit of Mellow Moss ribbon added there too.

Hope you like.

Thanks for stopping by.
