A Christening!!

WOW!!! Two posts in one night!!! AMAZING. Even more amazing given I'm sick at the moment. BUT... I had to get these invitation made for my Beautiful Ella who is getting Christened later in April.

You would've thought I'd learnt my 'cutting out' lesson after my recent post for my sister's Baby Shower invites (check it out here and here), but NO I didn't and I've just spent the last hour or so cutting out little butterflies for Ella's invitations... call me CRAZY!!!

I wasn't sure what to do for these, but this is what I eventually came up with. Hope you like it.

Here is a close up of the butterflies... I cut out 50 odd of these!!!!

Here's what I used:-

Stamps:- Live your Dreams Ink:- Blush Blossom Card:- Blush Blossom, Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa Accessories:- Dimensionals.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #11 - Welcome Little One

Hi There!!!

I'm back!!!! Still not 100%, but functioning well enough to have a play with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch... Have I mentioned how much I LOVE her sketches.... I'm sure I have, but just in case... I ADORE them! hahaha.

Here is the gorgeous sketch we had to play along with this week:-

And here is my card.

Last week I made this card for the Challenge ( A Baby Boy card) and just in case my beautiful friend's sister has a little pink person, I've used this weeks Sketch Challenge to make 'A Baby Girl Card'.

I've used Very Vanilla as the base and some Au Chocolat DSP (very very retired), but I LOvE the colour!! I've also used some Pretty in Pink... well what else for a little girl and my Nursery Necessities set for the little elephant. Oh the flowers are from my Forever in my Heart set (which by the way RETIRES tomorrow!!!!) I've stamped the elephant in Pretty in Pink and then restamped and cut out the ear which I coloured in using my Regal Rose marker and then covered with a bit of Dazzling Diamonds and popped it up on a dimensional. The flowers are stamped in Pretty in Pink and have buttons from my Earth Elements button collection, they've all been popped up too.

I used some Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink ribbons and that's pretty much it.

I hope you like, and thanks for stopping by.

A Wedding!

Hi There, hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. This one is going to be pretty quick unfortunately.... I'm currently fighting a NASTY Bug, which seems to have knocked me for a SIX, hopefully I'll make it to bed early and feel better in the morning.. technically I should get an extra hour sleep tonight, given Day Light Savings finishes at 2am here in WA... here's hoping my little darlings SLEEP for the extra hour!!!! Well one can hope can't they..hahaha.

Anyway lets get back on track... some of our dear friends (Craig and Kellee) are getting married tomorrow so I had to make a card for them on their very special day. Given I'm not feeling the best, I just wanted it to be quick and simple but classy and elegant. Well, here's what I came up with, and I think I managed to achieve my FOUR wants.

I dont often make ALL White cards, but I figured what could be more simple that white. I've used my Boho Background and Forever in My Heart stamp sets (Forever in my Heart is being retired in3 days!!!!). After sitting at my desk pondering or perhaps procrastinating for a bit I came up with the idea of Heat Embossing one of the background stamps (Boho Backgrounds) onto the card, so I inked up the Flower stamp with my VersaMark Pad and then used some White Embossing powder and my Heat Tool to get the effect on the bottom of the card. Then I used my Forever in my Heart set and stamped the 'love' heart stamp in versamark and the solid spotted heart in versamark and used some Silver Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool, then I popped them all up on some dimensionals. A touch of white ribbon and some silver cord and Voila.... there you have it my 'quick, simple, classy and elegant' Wedding Card.

Oh and if you'd LOVE to get your hands on the 'Forever in Your Heart' stamp set then email me before Tuesday, because on Tuesday this gorgeous set will be retired!!!

HOpe you like it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #10 - It's a Boy!!!

Hi There!!

I wasn't sure that I was going to make it in time for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch.... but I HAVE managed to sit myself down and get my card done, just in the nick of time!!! Phew.

Here is the sketch the lovely Karen gave us this week:-

And here is the card I came up with... oh and you won't believe it... there is NO Pink on it...nope not one trace!!! But then again, you're probably not shocked given the title of my post.. hahaha.

My beautiful friend Bec's sister is having a little baby in a couple of weeks... and nope I'm not even sure she is having a boy, I was actually hoping to get two cards made for this challenge one Blue and one Pink... but I just ran out of time... I will though make it and post it up here for you to see, so be sure to pop back and check it out. If though she does indeed have a boy... well this will be the sweet card she will get.

Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't had a go at Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch yet, then pop on over... you won't be able to help yourself.

A Baby Shower!!!

Hello.... I'm Back!!!! as as promised I have a picture of the 'FINISHED' Baby Shower invite I was talking about in this post, earlier today.

Hope you like them.... but most importantly i REALLY hope that Kate Jemma LOVES them!!!

The Base of the invite is Certainly Celery, with a layer of Kraft Cardstock. I recently had a Birthday Book Class and had a HUGE amount of Kraft pieces left over, so I really wanted to use them, and I think they were PERFECT for these invites. I used my White Gel pen to create some faux stitching around the edge.

Now for the little animals (all from Wild About You!), I stamped the lion in So Safron, then restamped his head in Pumpkin Pie and cut out the mane, then restamped his head again in So Saffron and cut out the head part and then used my Choc Chip marker to colour in his face features. All the layers are popped up on dimensionals. The Elephant is stamped in Soft Sky and I also restamped his ear and attached that with a dimensional and the Giraffe is stamped in So Saffron and again I used my Choc Chip Marker to colour in his face and tail.

Although there was an AWFUL amount of cutting out involved in these little darlings... I REALLY did enjoy creating them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Want to see what I've been doing????

Just thought I'd pop in and show you oh so quickly what I've been up to recently.

I'm organising a Baby Shower for my darling sister and opted (of course) to make her Baby Shower invites as well as all the prizes and any other bits and bobs needed for the special day. Sooo....I had this idea in my head for some cute little invites, thinking that I wanted to keep it nice and simple... well hold on to your hats because I'm about to show you my idea of 'SIMPLE'..... (not!!!).

Quite the simple little exercise when you are creating just one invitation, not the 26 or so that I have had to do. Here is the pic of all the little animals from my FAVE 'Wild About You' set... they are absolutely adoarable aren't they... so now can you see how I just couldn't resist... hahaha

And here is a little close up of the little lion... YES that is THREE different layers on his head... CRAZY I know!!!!

Now that I've stamped them and cut them all out, It's time to assemble the invitations... so be sure to pop back soon, to see the finished product.. I SOOOOOO hope they turn out how i've imagined them and I hope that KJ loves them too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sarah

Here's what I used:-

Stamps:- Wild About You
Card:- Whisper White
Ink:- Soft Sky, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:- Choc Chip Marker, Dimensionals and Paper Snips (gotta just LOVE these!!!!)

I thought I'd share with you the card I made for them both.

I actually, cased Kristina's gorgeous creation, I just loved the simplistic nature of it.

I hope you like my version of it.

Sisters!!!

Hi There!!!

As you probably know, I'm currently running an ongoing 12x12 Calendar Class with some BEAUTIFUL friends of mine. And thought I'd share with you another layout I've just finished.

I'm using the soon to be retired 'Crew Kids - Girls' Scrappin' Kit (Don't you just love it!!!! ooohhh I absolutely ADORE it!!!) If you want one... EMAIL me today so you don't miss out.

The base of the page is Regal Rose Textured Cardstock, with some polka dot DSP and some Silver Hodgepodge, the remaining accessories/embelishments are all from the Scrappin' Kit. They are absolutely fantastic, because you get everything you need in the one pack. The only extra bit were the letters, which are Thickers from American Crafts. I'm hoping the new cattie will bring with it some lovely new Alphabet stamps. I'm thinking I might actually colour the letters in... What do you think???? Any suggestions.

Anyway, I hope you like my latest page of my GORGEOUS girls.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #9 - Pink Friend!!!

Hello!!!

Been a tad quiet this week...SO SORRY!!!... But you don't even want me to get started on the list of things I need to get done!!! WOW... talk about loading myself up!!!! Anyway.. I LOVE participating in Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, so I couldn't resist... but... I must get onto my Baby Shower Invites...well not mine, but the one's I'm making.

This weeks sketch from Karen is......

Isn't it just gorgeous??

And here is my card.. (Be warned there is a substantial amount of PINK on this card!!!!)

My last few cards have be somewhat lacking in PINK, so I just couldn't resist, and given I'm about to create 25 odd Baby Shower invites, which will have NO pink, I REALLY needed to get my fix.

Hope you like. I've used some Spring Fling DSP (soon to be retired) and I had to get some more cards made with my fave Bodacious Bouquet before it too is retired (*sigh*).

Sorry it's so short, but as well as the Baby Shower Invites, I've just remembered I have to create, make and cut my card stock for a Stamp-a-Stack on Tuesday Night!!!!!

Bye for now and thanks for stopping by.

Sarah

Anyway.. I REALLY wanted to have a play at Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, and although I've literally got a million things to get done, I just couldn't resist.

So here is the sketch for the week:-

And here is my super quick card.

Shelli's Creative Challenge.... SPRING!!!!

Just a quick one tonight...I've been soooooo busy, with Baby Shower invites to make, Christening Invites to make, numerous Birthday Cards, Challenges, Swaps and Thankyou cards AND a Stamp-a-Stack to prepare for.... GOSH...I'm starting to hyperventilate!!!! OK Deep Breath!!!

The reason for this quick post is to pop up my entry for Shelli Gardner's - So Shelli Creative Challenge. This months challenge is SPRING themed and what better colours for a Spring Theme than of course PINK and GREEN.

You may have seen this Scrap Page before on my Blog, but I'm going to put it on again just for this challenge... Hope you like it!!!

The picture is of my Darling Ella... isn't she just beautiful... yes I most definately am BIASED!!! I've use the Simply Scrappin' Kit - Crew Kid Girls with all of it's gorgeous Regal Rose and Wild Wasabi Colours...mmmm delicious.... and it matches her little outfit perfectly.

Sorry it's so short, but I must dash and continue marking things off my HUGE to do list.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #5

My goodness.... I'm back with another Sketch Challenge completed. This time it is from the very lovely and talented Keesh.

I'm so glad I managed to get this card done... It actually has two purposes, one is it's for the Challenge and the other is it is going to my GORGEOUS Girlfriend for her Birthday.

You'll also be amazed, because this card just like the previous card I posted has NOT ONE trace of pink on it... I know!!!! What on earth is going on in the Kalé household at the moment. All these cards and NO pink...never fear it will be rectified... starting tomorrow I think I'm going on a PINK binge... beware!!!!

OK enough of the waffle let me show you the sketch that Keesh gave us to work with:-

And here is the card I came up with:-

I've used some more retiring products... such as Blue Bayou for the base and the next layer of some Falls Flowers DSP, then I've added another layer of Blue Bayou and Soft Sky and then another of Blue Bayou and the reverse side of the Falls Flowers DSP and added a dash of Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon. The top layer is Blue Bayou and Whisper White and to that I've made a large circle using my Round Tab Punch in Blue Bayou (mmm lots of Blue Bayou on this card isn't there??), and a scallop in Soft Sky then I punched a circle in Whisper White after I'd stamped some flowers from the Live your Dreams set. I stamped the butterfly in YEP Blue Bayou, but I stamped it off three times to get a lighter shade and propped it up on a dimensional. Oh and lets not forget the Dazzling Diamonds I added to the flowers. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet and is BLUE BAYOU and the two butterflies above it are in Blue Bayou (GOSH!!) and Old Olive. And one last thing I used my paper piercer to add some little holes at the top.

So there you go my Blue Bayou card!!!!

Hope you like.

Sarah
xx

Here's what I used:-

Stamps:- Live Your Dreams, Short and Sweet Paper:- Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Falls Flowers DSP Ink:- Blue Bayou, Old Olive, Soft Sky Accessories:- Round Tab Punch, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way Glue Pen, Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon, Paper Piercer and Mat.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #7

I LOVE participating in Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenges. I guess I like the 'safeness' of having a sketch to work with (you can't really go wrong with a sketch), but the freedom to come up with your very own creation, and it allows you to try things that you quite possibly wouldn't normally try. So, having said all of that, here is the Sketch that Karen had for us this week.

And here is the card I created:-

I'm giving my current In-Colours one last hoorah!!!.. I figure I best be using them up now while I still can, I sure am going to miss them when they've gone!!!! Might have to keep a few bits and pieces as a momento...LOL!!

I've started with a base of Really Rust and then added a layer of River Rock and then some Apple Cider DSP (now retired). I then added a square of Really Rust which I attacked, well ok I didn't really attack it, but I did use my Scallop Edge Punch on it!!! and then added another piece of DSP from the Apple Cider Pack, this time River Rock Polka Dots, to that another strip of Really Rust and some Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon. To make the centre piece I've used a piece of Wild Wasabi paper, again from the Apple Cider which I cut out using my scallop punch then added a circle of Really Rust and one of the flowers from the recently finished Sale-a-bration set Polka Dot Punches. The little piece in the middle I cut from a piece of DSP (yep Apple Cider) and added a Brad from the soon to be retired Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware. The sentiment is from my also soon to be retired hostess set 'So Many Sayings'.

Now... there are a lot of retiring products on this little card, sooooo if there is anything on here that you would love to have before they disappear for good, then please email me to place an order.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like my card. Don't forget to leave a comment to let me know!!!

Sarah

Here's what I used:-

Stamps:- Polka Dot Punches (Sale-a-bration - no longer available), So Many Sayings (Hostess Set) Card:- Really Rusy, River Rock, Apple Cider DSP, Whisper White Ink:- Wild Wasabi Accessories:- Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Punch, Wild Wasabi Dbl Stitched Ribbon, 1⅜" Circle Punch, 1¼" Circle Punch, 1/2" Cirlce Punch, Dimensionals
