All About Gifts!!!

Well lastnight was the second 'All About Gifts' night and I think (hope) it's safe to say that everyone on both nights enjoyed themselves and loved what they created. (Hello Lovely Ladies!!!).
Needless to say there was an excessive amount of M&M's consumed, together with homemade muffins and of course (for me) not ONE but TWO evening full of chatter!!!... oh and the occasional BOOT from Baby Kale', when I was least expecting it... hahaha.... makes for an interesting night when I'm half way through explaining something and I let out a little YELP!!!!.

Well here are the goodies that we all made, plus a couple of extras.

First up.... we made a CD Holder, I got the tutorial and colour ideas from the very talented Makessha Byl (who had sent me a CD Holder she had made earlier this year.... all beautifully decorated, just so that I could see how it was made... so THANKYOU Makeesha!!!!).

The girls got to fight over who got what paper... the flowers or the dots, but then some were even VERY brave and turned their paper over and made a CD Holder completely different to the two I showed them. AWESOME. Both of these have been made using Real Red card stock for the base and strips of the Summer Picnic DSP (available in the SPRING MINI!!) with some Old Olive Grosgrain, which I have just realised in the picture has slipped down...oops!!!!
Then I've used my Scallop and circle punches for the embelishment and on the flower one I've used the flower stamp from the Level 2 Hostess set 'Cause for Celebration'.

Next up we made these gorgeous little 'Gift Card Holders':-

This has Really Rust as the card base and then we used some of the DSP Apple Cider (again from the new Mini Catalogue). The saying is from the Level 1 Hostess Set 'So Many Sayings' and the embelishment has been made using the Boho Backgrounds stamp set (LOVE this set!!) and my Scallop and Circle punches. The pattern on the scallop (green) was done by reinserting the scallop once cut back into the punch and turning it slightly and then punching it again. Then we added some River Rock Double Stitched Ribbon and a couple of Brads to secure the 'Gift Card Pouch' and the job was done. These can also be adapted to a larger size to allow you to fit a photo into them if you wanted to send photos to friends.

And then.... we made a 'CHOCKIE SLIDER' mmmmmm!!!!!! oh and fully adapted in size to fit a 'Cadbury Block' into it.... YUM!!!!

This is the one that the girls made.... and we've used Brilliant Blue as the base and the layers are Wild Wasabi, some paper from the Jersey Shore DSP range and Soft Sky and Whisper white.... the stamp set I used was from Boho Backgrounds, but the girls were all super creative and some of them chose a slightly different layout and different sentiment using the Cheery Chat stampset. It was all finished off with some Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon and a little tag.

I thought I'd make a chrissy one too, so here it is.

I've used Old Olive as the base and then some Real Red as the bottom layer with a strip of paper from the Dashing DSP range, then another layer of Old Olive and the stamp from 'Seasons of Joy (Mini Catalogue) was stamped in Real Red on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Add some Real Red Grosgrain and a little tag, again the stamp was from Seasons of Joy, and that is my first Christmas Gift ready to go.... and 5months early!!!!

I'm nearly done!!! PROMISE. But I couldn't resist making this next card. From the minute I saw it on Kristina's blog, I just had to make one.

My very own PINK christmas card....

I've used Pretty In Pink as the card base and stamped it with stamps from the Seasons of Joy stamp set (you MUST get this set... it is just GORGEOUS!!!) Then added some Wild Wasabi textured card stock and another layer of Whisper White with the the sentiment stamped in Regal Rose. Add a splash of Regal Rose Wide Grosgrain and WHOLLA..... who said you couldn't have a PINK Chrissy Card???

So there you go..... all the goss on two jam packed evenings of Chatter, M&M consumption and 'All About Gifts' making and stampin', oh and of course ONE pink Chrissy Card. All the lovely ladies who came to both nights should be sooooo proud of themselves.... they did a wonderful job.

Hope you like.

Colour Challenge #17 - Take 2!!

Hello Again!!!

If you read my post from last night about Kristina's GORGEOUS Colour Challenge for this week, you'll know that I wasn't really happy with it. Soooo.... I've given it another shot and come up with this one.

Pretty much the same layout and colours as the previous one, this time I've used Bodacious Bouquet and the words are from So Many Sayings (Hostess Set).

Sorry to rush off, but I have to get Jorja to Swimming Lesson... can't be late for the start of the new term...hahaha. I'm sure I'll come out of the pool and lot more WET than she will!!! haha

Hope you like this one. I'm much happier with this one.

Colour Challenge #17

Hello!!! Can you believe it's that time of week already... YEP it's Kristina's Colour Challenge.

Here's this weeks GORGEOUS challenge!!!

Oh yeah!!!! you can ALL imagine my EXCITEMENT when I saw this one.... I just adore these colours....oooh and all that PINK!!!! Gorgeous.
Anyway.... I think I put way too much pressure on myself for this one, considering how much I loved all the colours... I've made a card, BUT... I'm not too sure about it!!!
Here it is though!
I've used Regal Rose as the base of the card and added some Sage Shadow and Whisper White as the layers. Then I stamped two hearts from the 'Forever In My Heart' set and the bottom heart is stamped in Rose Red on Rose Red Cardstock and the top heart in Regal Rose on Whisper White Cardstock with a sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds. Then I added what I think is probably the best part of this card some of the absolutely GORGEOUS Regal Rose Wide Grosgrain Ribbon...!
I still haven't convinced myself about this one unfortunately... I guess I was hoping that after typing the description I'd be happier.... maybe tomorrow!!!

Hope you like it.

Sarah

Here's everything I used:-
Stamps:- Forever in my Heart
Paper:- Regal Rose, Rose Red, Sage Shadow, Whisper White
Ink:- Regal Rose, Rose Red
Accessories:- Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Two Way Glue Pen, Regal Rose Wide Grosgrain Ribbon.

Colour Challenge #16

Hello Everyone!!!

Here is this weeks colour challenge from Kristina Werner . PLEASE... if you haven't been to her website yet, then you MUST!!!! And while you're there, why not give her next Colour Challenge a go... they really are addictive!!!

The colours this week were Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla and Certainly Celery, and as you can see from our Colour Inspiration picture... well it was just SCREAMING BABIES... and given my current 'CLUCKY' and quite pregnant state... well I just couldn't resist.

Here is a look at what I came up with:-

I started out with a base of Very Vanilla Cardstock then put a layer of Soft Sky and Certainly Celery DSP using Dimensionals. The Giraffe from my most FAVE set is stamped in Pumpkin Pie on Very Vanilla and again layered upon Pumpkin Pie and Soft Sky Cardstock. The words 'Small Wonder' are from the Hostess Set 'So Many Sayings' and layered in the same way as the Giraffe.
A lashing of Very Vanilla Ribbon and that's it.

I know Sammy will be EXTREMELY proud of this effort given that there is not an ounce of PINK in it and a fair amount of ORANGE!!! (just for you Sammy!!! hahaha).

I hope you all like it.... let me know what you think.

Here are all the tools:-
Stamp Set:- Wild About You, So Many Sayings (Hostess Set)

Happy Birthday Tara and 'Son'!!

I've got a couple of Birthday cards to show you that I've just finished making. One is for my niece Tara and the other is for my Brother. I think it's pretty safe to assume that he won't be looking at my BLOG anytime soon (too girly or something like that!!!! hahhaa) and well Tara will probably be in bed now and I'll be giving her her card tomorrow morning.

Tara's is made from the 'Pick a Petal' set and I've stamped the petals out on Confetti White cardstock using YoYo Yellow Ink (WOW... and EXTREMELY bright colour to use!!!!) and I used my little secret (which probably isn't such a HUGE secret anyway, but I'm proud of it... hahaha) a punched out circle to attach all of the petal before sticking to the card.... so much easier that fiddling around with all those individual petals. The centre of the flower is stamped in Only Orange. I used my paper piercing mat and tool on a piece of Whisper White and went around the edges with some more YoYo Yellow Ink and then stuck it to a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock... a bit of ribbon here and a little greeting there and WHOLLA!!!! Happy Birthday Tara!!!
And now for BIG Bro's card.... well his is a card/gift card/money holder all in one. I got the idea for this one from the very talented Kristina Werner's site (oh, what would us Stampin' Ladies do without the wonderful Kristina!!!).
Ive used Kraft Cardstock as the base and stamped images from 'Big Bold Birthday' onto Confetti White Cardstock in Blue Bayou for the cupcake bottom and Chocolate Chip for the top. I've also used some of the Close to Cocoa DSP on the bottom and attached it with a couple of brads to secure the fold which will hold the little suprise for him.

Happy Birthday 'Son'!!!!

This little Gift Card/Money Holder is another little treat we'll be making at my 'All About Gifts' night... not necessarily a Birthday one though.

I'll have a couple more Birthday cards to post up this week... July is a busy month indeed.

Here are all the tools I've used:-

Tara's Card
Stamps:- Pick a Petal, So Many Sayings (Hostess Set)
Card:- Tempting Turquoise, Confetti White, Whisper White
Ink:- YoYo Yellow, Only Orange
Accessories:- Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain, Linen Thread, Paper Piercing Mat/Tool

Andrew's Card
Stamps:- Big Bold Birthday
Card:- Kraft, Confetti White, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa DSP
Ink:- Blue Bayou, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:- Brads, Dimensionals, Taupe Grosgrain (retired)

All about Gifts!!!

Hello!!!!!

I'm still here!!.. I know I've been a little bit quiet recently posting new creations, so I apologise about that. But I thought I'd share this little treat with you.

At my last Stamp-a-Stack, which was heaps of fun, I got a couple of requests to show some GIFT ideas, given that there are a lot of 'Little People' about to have birthdays and of course the always and ever pending CHRISTMAS!!!!! (more on that later!!)... sooooo I made a little gift box which was the fastest gift box I've EVER made and is absolutely perfect for a Lolly Bag at one of the many birthdays that will be popping up over the next few months. It's also a sneek peak at what we'll be making at the next 'Class' I hold... rather than making just cards, I thought we'd ALL be brave (yep you too Bec!!!!) and make it 'All About Gifts'!!! I've got a few more things to make and post up for you, but the ever popular 'Chockie Slider' will also be included, so if you are interested in coming to one of these classes let me know (you can leave a comment on this post too if you like!!).. there will be more details in my newsletter which I'll hopefully send out this week.

Anyway... here is a pic of my little GIFT BOX!!!!

Isn't it cute???
