Seasons of Joy!!!

As promised, albeit a tad late... here are some piccies of the cards we made at the 'Season's of Joy' Night held at my place on Wednesday night.

All of these cards use the 'Seasons of Joy' stamp set which is currently available in the Spring Mini Catalogue, and I have to say... I LOVE THIS STAMP SET!!!!!

First up is.....
For this card we used Real Red as the card base and then some of the Dashing DSP which was layered onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card which we'd stamped with the 'Merry Christmas' stamp out of the set. The Real Red Grosgrain hides the join where the two papers meet and the embelishment at the top uses the Poinsettia flower out of the set which has been stamped in River Rock Ink onto some River Rock Card then punched out using a circle punch and layered onto an Old Olive Scallop, oh and lets not forget the little brad in the centre. I've layered these layers onto the Real Red using Dimensionals.

Card number 2 is.....
Mmmm.... well... this card very nearly ended up in the RUBBISH bin!!!! YEP!!! I cant even begin to tell you how much trouble I had getting this to look right!!!!. The idea for this card was from Karen Thomas who's card was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS... but when I tried to get it to work with Old Olive and Real Red... well it just wasn't working for me. I ended up adding a tiny piece of Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon, some Dazzling Diamonds... well they say Diamonds can fix anything!!! hahaha and then did some smudging around the edges with some Old Olive Ink using my sponge dauber. The bow I made using some Real Red Grosgrain and although you can't see it in the photo there is the Merry Christmas sentiment stamped in Real Red onto the Red Card. I'm still not 100% happy with this one, but all of the lovely ladies who came loved it... and that's all that matters!!! (THANKS Girls!!!!)

Card No. 3.... PLEASE Bear with me..... this really is a long post!!!
This card uses the Swirl, Christmas Tree and Merry Christmas sentiment from the Seasons of Joy Stamp set. We stamped the swirl in Old Olive onto the Old Olive Cardstock and then stamped the tree and words in Old Olive onto, I think Very Vanilla Card stock (it was either Very Vanilla or Whisper White) and tied some Old Olive Wide Grosgrain around it before sticking it to some Real Red Card stock. You can't see it clearly in the picture, but there is also some extra sparkle added to the tree.... it was a Dazzling Diamond free for all!!!!!!

And last but not least... Card No. 4

You may remember this card from this post (my special PINK chrissy card), well I just love this layout, so I made it in TRADITIONAL Chrissy colours. The Real Red Card Base is stamped with the large and small flowers from the set and then the wording stamp is stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White and adhered to some Old Olive Card using Dimensionals, which is then adhered to the Real Red Card with Dimensionals... oops before attaching we tied some Real Red Wide Grosgrain around it too.

So there you have it... the four cards we made at our Season's of Joy Night... oh and of course we made another Chockie Slider the same as in this post.
